Skateboard Park Flow vs. Snow Parks

Alright so this is what needs to happen in the evolution of parks whether they be skier based or snowboarders whatever whatever.

Does anyone remember that snowboard comp. last season that was a total skateboard style park. You could hit a line and at the end would be quarterpipes around the walls so it would give you momentum to go back and hit up another line from where you started. This park to me by far was the best style ive ever seen, and I cant even remembe what comp. it was.

I just wanna see snow parks go towards this direction, from what this new Echo mountain in CO is supposed to do its possibly what I am talking about.

We need to be able to just completely flow onto each element. I mean obviously speed would be cut down alot so there would be no huge kickers. But sick rails, and medium tables for smooth ass 1,3,5,7s....

Anyone agree?

that would be cool for a jib park, but you couldnt put jumps in it.

one reason I know I cant build anyhting like that is space. the revert-y style set ups hog space, which is valuable to so many more people than park skiers who could use it appropriatly . Even for comps, its hard to find the right spot to do right. I do agree that its a sick spin on the standard, top to bottom run. MaMMoth does a rad job of it with their.... what's it called, transworld something... shit, someone else will know what im talkinn about

These don't even show the jumps for the Super Slopestyle Course. They jumps where Huge. for those who have been to the US OPEN there about the same maybe a hair smaller.

Fluff you are definitely right, in a place like connecticut where we live its pretty much impossible because we dont have the land space to do it, I mean we do but there would rather be a regular style park there than that, and the demand isnt high, but where would it be if there was?

I guess if you have the land space at a huge resort in CO or CA you could do it, because it would be a big variation change and the demand is probably alot higher out there than it is in the east coast.

But, I just thought that park styles like this could really change the park scene big time because people would be able to work on their style more than a wide spread park thats intimidating.

And to the man above you are right there could be no big jumps,but you could throw a few small ones it to work on clean smaller spins and just style everything out.

I just wanna see more style put into everything and not how many balls you have to get that extra spin out and fall on your face

they just build that for the sessions then its destroyed. For the US OPEN it was turned in snow bleachers for the crowd to sit and stand on. Then Flatened to make base's for tents and stuff

part of the problem i think is that gapers etc, would clog it beyond belief. because it would take twice as long to go through the lines, and also it seems like it would be hard to maintain one of those in a public park because, if the lips have to be jumps and landings, then kids would destroy them in a second.

^huh, it is too bad that there isn't more of a selection process taking place at the top of the good parks to weed out the people who fuck it up for the rest of us. I wouldn't know though i guess cuz i just ski weekdays and it's awesome!

Well with the gaper problem, a park like this would have to be very controlled. There would have to be a few park monitors who watched and kicked kids out who were just wrecking it.

But there would definitely have to have a serious maitenience crew because lips and what not would def get destroyed.

I mean it would be a big pain in the ass to have a park like this at all time, but it could work with the right team of people doing it and of course the money to fund everything

Wow if that concept actually holds water in the future you will see snowboarders and possibly skiiers going up the rail features and being able to hold butters until the next feature, sort of bringing a Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 sense of stringing tricks together if you catch my drift.
