Okay, I’ve been watching this three-thread-slugfest for several days now. It really is demoralizing listening to some of you kids rant. I’m putting my foot down. Here are some guidelines that you should follow if you ever want to post anything related to politics or economics.
1) For the love of God...stop the generalizations. No stereotyping (lib/con), no shitty comparisons (Hitler/Saddam), no bad analogies, and no playing the “ur ignorant card (because chances are “ur a dumbass too).
2) If you DO NOT have reasonable knowledge about the subject, DO NOT play “connect the dots. Leaps in logic are the foundations of bad judgement and poor decision making. They are very dangerous. In other words, if you can’t immediately support you ideas with examples, facts, legitimate statistics, or history, then please keep your mouth closed. Your doing a disservice to yourself as well as others. Critically thinking about an issue is great, but save your judgement until you become knowledgeable.
3) I HAVE SAID THIS 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 TIMES! THE U.S. IS NOT IN A GOD DAMN ECONOMIC RESECTION!!!! GROWTH HAS JUST SLOWED!! THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!
4) If you are going to criticize, please be constructive. It simple and juvenile to say “he fucked it up, or “you are such a fucking hypocrite. Try to put some creative thought behind your reasoning and criticism. In the real world, people appreciate suggestions and innovations rather than complaining. People will be more likely to listen to you.
5) Try to keep name calling to a minimum. Remember, it makes you look like and idiot too.
6) Eat your vegetables.
Thats all for now. I have to get some sleep. Peace out.
