If you sign up for the Wentworth snownotes at their website you will get all the updates on the upgrades and stuff every couple months. The new terrain was created because they needed material for the new reservoir, it's kindof a by-product of what they built up top that will be turned into a little more extra ski terrain............i guess the Hurricane has been altered aswell......

Sun Bowl is a name someone gave to an excavation site on the side of the Chickadee. They used the rock to help build the snowmaking resevoir on top. The Sun Bowl will be less exciting than the Bunny Hill.

dont take this the wrong way cause wentworth is the shit, the best little hill for freeriding around i think but the sunbowl we speak of looks more like a golf hole that ski terrain and the resevoir is far from ready from the viewing eye....pumping station is not built meaning no water into the snow making, i think we wont see much til next yr but i may be wrong....wentworth is still the shit and i was looking at old footy from the 03/04 season when thor built the park - way better that last year, multiple talbes and rails were in the ground, thor knows whats up we just need cold for some snowmaking
cya all there

i doubt they'd just leave it and have no snowmaking..3/4 of our hill is snowmade..they wouldnt have sold season passes if they knew they werent snowmaking. only thing im worried about is where is the cold weather right now? i see the forcast for the 26th of november ont he weathernetwork site and it says 11 degrees...wtf? where the cold weather and snow?

Okay... so all of you curious about Wentworth, relax.
It's true that the new resevoir and pumphouse aren't operational just yet, but it should be running this year.
This said, you should all know that the new system can run independantly of the old one; and vice versa. What this means that even if the new resevoir and pumphouse aren't going, Wentworth will have the same snowmaking capabilities as always. When both are up to 100%, it's going to completely killer.
Maybe not this year, but this will mean big things for us at Wentworth.
Jjjibs got it right about the Sun Bowl... it's just a little terrain that runs off the back of the Resevoir on to the Chickadee. Something a little extra if you want to walk for it. Also, a lot of the earth used to build the resevoir was taken from the bottom of the Hurricane, which has apparently improved this last pitch.
Woot!

Wentworth has not approached anyone about buying High Head in many. many years. The price was only in the league of an Intrawest at this time.
And before any rumours start, Wentworth is not talking with Intrawest either.
