FSM... what's the deal?
I was looking in chapers to see if SBC Skier is out yet (and it's taking forever to hit the newstands btw), and I see this thing called Future Snowboard Magazine...
A NEW SNOWBOARD MAGAZINE!!! Man, the world we live in today sucks. With the cancelation of Freeze by Transworld Snowboarding because they don't think it will reach enough people for what it is, and Freeskier being a magazine that I can hardly relate with (too involved with the 'image' of skiing and who's in... they just don't have it for me... and powder is well... powder is what it always has been... not that powder is bad, they're just there. (i don't need to say why ski canada, skiing, skier, and ski are bad, they just are)
So after 10 legit years (12+ years, depends on when you think it started) of "newschool" skiing, I am down to one ski magazine that has 4 issues a year. while snowboarding gets another magazine.
yes, I know - Ski Time Magazine is new, and that's great, and the K2 Magazine (although I am a little skeptical about a magaine made by a ski company... Hally Hansen has a ski magazine, but it's not much of a magazine as it is a marketing gimic. But I supose that the intire industry is about marketing... afterall, pro's arn't really neccesary for skiing to exsist, but it sure makes the sport more entertaining...
I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this other than the fact that I am a little sadened because I want the new issue of SBC Skier and I want it now.
the olympics are silly.
