colleges near mammoth

is there any colleges or universities around mammoth that don't suck? also, i know this has been brought up before, but i need opinoon of a good ski college. colorado mtn. college is terrible but in a sweet location, and cu is too far away from the mountains. i was really thinking colorado school of mines, or montana state. any other opinions or anyone know about mammoth colleges? thanks to anyone who can help.

it's a community college . . . if you want a real college, you have to go to UNR which is like 4 hours away. yes mammoth is in the middle of nowhere

i am looking into MS also. i think its like an hour and a half from big sky or something like that.

U of U is in salt lake, and an hour away from ski resorts. You have to beware of all the mormons though. Theres alot.

Mines is a great school if you don't mind the fact that Golden is possibly the most boring town ever, and all the kids that go to mines are hard core nerds. Boulder is really only like 15-20 min from Golden, so it's worth it be able to have a social life and drive a little further. And Eldora, is only 45 min away from Boulder. Not much of a mountain, but good for after school treks.

yah, becka basically summed it up. CU is well worth the extra drive and eldora's pipe is lit until 8 on wednesdays. it also depends on what you want to study. mines is totally science-based.

go to university of utah, its closer to more ski resorts than anywhere else, plus great snow

i'll be at MSU-Bozeman starting fall 2003. the school is nothing special... not bad at all, but if your looking for a top-notch education, probably not the best choice:)

however, the skiing and town (bozeman) are both sweet, and the overall college atmosphere (as far as i could tell) was really nice.

big sky kicks ass and is only 45miles away, but on montana roads you can get there in only about 1hr....bridger bowl is only about 20 minutes away, its quite a bit smaller and more of a family-style resort, but still has some nice bowls and good terrain...especially if you're used to east coast skiing.

thats about all.....i'm looking forward to it, should be a good time
