The truth about limewire

so everybody likes using limewire. it's fast and it doesn't come with any adware right? well today i made a shocking discovery; limewire carries a shitload of ads in a hidden file c:\uploads. there was over 1400 trojans hidden away. i also found 1400+ more viruses in the limewire shared folder. be careful what you download and don't open any suspicious files, and never share your files.

thats only in the new versions... and that is exactly why i havent upgraded. i am running a version from over a year ago and its flawless

download limewire pro and it should fix that problem

It' snot limewire, it's what people give you. Basically, if it asks you to download something seperate from a website, or get a lisence to play it, don't bother. Then you're safe.

turn on limewire and go to options and go through each category turning off anything that would give someone access to your files. i wouldn't make limewire start up when windows does because that really eats away at bandwidth and cpu usage

you can't avoid viruses with or without limewire, so ... and there are much more things on emule

use bittorents then, faster, easy to choose the amount of upload from your comp...

Or you could use newsgroups, but its wayyyy more complicated to get started
