Rainy days at school meant playing "Heads up 7UP" in the classroom Remember

that?



I'm not finished yet...

Kool-Aid was the drink of the summer

Giving your friends a ride on your handlebars

Wearing your new shoes on the first day of school

Class Field Trips

When nearly everyone's mom was at home when the kids got there.

When a quarter seemed like a fair allowance, and another quarter a Miracle.



When any parent could discipline any kid, or feed him or use him to carry

groceries, and nobody, not even the kid, thought a thing of it.

When your parents took you to McDonalds and you were so cool.

When being sent to the principal's office was nothing compared to the fate

that awaited a misbehaving student at home.



Basically, we were in fear for our lives but it wasn't because of drive by

shooting s, drugs, gangs, etc.

Our parents and grandparents were a much bigger threat! And some of us are

still afraid of em!



Didn't that feel good, just to go back and say, "Yeah, I remember that!"



I want to go back to the time when...

Decisions were made by going "eeny-meeny-miney-mo"

Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, "do over!"

"Race issue" meant arguing about who ran the fastest.

Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in "monopoly"

Catching fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening



It wasn't odd to have two or three "best" friends.

Being old, referred to anyone over 20.

The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was cooties.

Nobody was prettier than Mom

Scrapes and bruises were kissed and made better

It was a big deal to finally be tall enough to ride the "big people" rides at

the amusement park.



Getting a foot of snow was a dream come true.



Abilities were discovered because of a "double-dog-dare"

Spinning around, getting dizzy and falling down was cause for giggles.



The worst embarrassment was being picked last for a team.

Water balloons were the ultimate, ultimate weapon.

Older siblings were the worst tormentors, but also the fiercest protectors.

If you can remember most or all of these, then you have LIVED!!!



Pass this on to anyone who may need a break from their "grown up" life...

I have been thinking the same thing lately. I feel that the world of being a adult sucks and I wish that I could go back even to high school would be sweet. When a 300 dollar paycheck was still sweet. I miss it sooooo much.

Sure all that was really fun, but there's so much to do in this world. I think it's a waste to look to the past when the future roars ahead of you.

Of course, this makes sense in your case, cause you hate your job.

True I hate my job, but once you get married and have sizable monthly bills, life gets very busy and stressfull. Everybody tells me that i'm young(23) and that it will only get worse. I hope not.

I miss the old days..no worries and no computer or anything..it seem like the kids today sit in on their computer or playin on their console, I never see kids outsiden anymore

fuuuuuuuuuck yaaaaa! i remember like practically everything you said accept one or two of them, dope, back in elementary school.......those were the damn days, now im stuck thinking about taking courses in college that i wanna turn into my career for the rest of my life, hopefully i like my decision!

but i just enjoy life, alot of ppl seem to complian about being older......im turning 19 in a week and lifes dope.

It forgot going to the store to buy penny cadies after school.

making go-carts out of old wagons and sending some brave soul down the hill.

bandaids on the knees after the go-cart's breaking mechanism failed.

building treehouses with neighbourhood kids

selling lemonade with your mom's cups on a table made out of plywood and taking the money to buy candy

the feeling of fall in the air and long shadows meant that school was starting.

the crisp air and the dew on the grass on your first day of school while waiting for the bus.

I am 26 and about to propose,life is crazy I wish I was like 16, that was a good age, you could drive and had lots of adult freedoms but with childlike responsibilities. but 5 and 6 were nice as well

i remember all that shit. me and my friends still talk about legends of the hidden temple adn global guts. that wasl ike 10 years ago. cartoons back in the day were kickass. i hate these chinese weird things.

dude its true. I remember back when i would play hockey until we couldn't see the tennis ball anymore, now the streets of my old neighbourhood stay silent as kids stay inside and go on the internet. Bring back the activity, limit young kids time on the internet. They'll thank you later!

ya why do you think america is getting so fat... all people do is sit a computer and play games or chat.

back in my childhood all you could do was play tag, hockey, flashlight tag, race, bike, etc...

soon we wont even need to leave the house as we will have a maching that needs ingrediants and you just tell it what you want. TV, COMPUTER, love seat, blender, fridge, desk, phone.

Yeah I had all my friends over last weekend and it turned into a huge came of kickthe can. There was like 30 of us. half of us used to live on the same street. I recently got my parents old house so we abunch of poeple came over and we had a huge came. it was real spur of the moment but so much fun. the neighbours were a bit kooked out though, there was guys and girls in their late 20's hiding behind small playsets and in trees, all over their yards. fucken fun though.
