for 400 dollars all you need to decide is mini dv or digital8. mini dv cameras are a lot smaller. digital8 will have a few more features. Same image quality.

ya i would rather get a mini dv they come with the right wires to get it on ur computer while with hi8s u need to buy a fire wire so i guess im just goin wit the cannon zr200.or maybe a 100 i gotta look at the fearures and see whats better

get a dvd cam that way you can edit it or whatever and then just put it in your dvd player or computer and watch it instead of having to buy a dvd burner

uhg get a Sony HDR-FX1. they're damn cheap and easy to use, but you also get in-tents image quality.

Tanaka shut up already you know like nothing. And i would go with the MiniDV, just because Its kinda becoming the standard nowadays and will probably have better quality, but mebbe less zoom for the money. Why would you get the XL1? because you ahve loaded parents or like to have trick shit.

ya...im not dumping 2k into a camera unless im making money for filming or im really into it but for now i just want a small nice camera to take to the mountain instead of luggin a bag around with me

yo i bough the ZR100 its pretty sick, good wuality came with pinaccle studio, i got it on sale for a good price its small and easy to bring to the mountain...the only thing is the night mode feature doesn't work very well but you dont need that anyway cause when you film skiing its bright

you can't go wrong with canon

ya i know im goin to get the zr200 and that comes with the usbcable to upload and it should come with pinacle to sence the zr100 comes with it so now i dont have to go huntin for a better program then wmm.

umm, im pretty sure that you cant upoad video from any camcorder using a usb cable. either way, your gonna need firewire, but its not that expenisive to buy the card.

yea due you don't use a usb to upload from the zr200. they give you a usb for when you take pictures with it through the memory but firewire is for the video......
