When do you retire a ski?

Just wondering when most people retire or finally trash a pair of skis. I personally use them until I am grinding away the core. How about you?

I dunno, normally every 3 or 4 seasons I'll buy myself new skis. I just upgraded from my 02-03 Mad Trixs to 04-05 PEs this season. You can tell when the ski is shot...when it has lost all its pop etc.
We'll have you dead pretty soon.

as long as it takes until they snap in half. everyone could use some urban skis.

Every year. Mine are usually trashed after a year of rails and whatever else i throw them at. I think now i have a park ski, rail/urban ski, and pow ski (all acumulated over three seasons), I will save the pow ski from the rails. But that might not happen.

i always got to laugh at my brother when he says, hey fvck, youre skis are missing some edges. they are destroyed, you cant use them.
i mean theres a lack of 1 inch under the binding. you can still carve em well and they are powder skis so i dont have problem with it...
but all the racers or all mtn skiers (like my bro) throw the skis in the lake when theres missing a little edge....
what ski is so destroyed that you have no chance to use it as a urban ski. id say pretty fvcked up....

Its kinda been around alot and been in a few articles." - TravisMC in a thread where everyone made fun of the creator who asked if chads had been hit with skis. thx alot

Skied mine till I broke one in half.
One pair has the edges blown, but I'm saving them for urban.
One pair has wood showing through the base, but I still use them for skiing the rocks at A-basin.

i just get new skis when really really good deals come across and move the old skis to something else like park only or urban or whatever they are best suited for you should use a ski until it snaps in half

I still have red and silver concepts. I think I've been skiing on them for 5 years now. Same Mad_Trix for 3 years as well.
I don't see much park action and ski 20 - 30 days a season so they are in good shape.
The retired ones weren't good skis to start with.

I have a pair of skis I use for rails that are either just old skis of mine or skis i get at a ski swap for 50 bucks. then i have good skis that I use until they are too small. I try to get two years out of them

I ski pretty hard, so i save up every 2 years to buy myself new skis, its kind of a treat to stay up to date with the cool new stuff too.

1-2 pairs a season easily if you are riding a lot. Especially park skis get beat after like a month or so of hard park riding

Every season or about 140 days whichever comes first, by then most skis are just garbage, especially when you are bouncing off rocks and trees all day long
