What do you guys ... and girls think about ebay?

ebay charges fees to sell (but it has like hundreds of thousands of auctions per day so even a small fee brings in lots of money), but all the stuff for sale isn't ebay, its people

what im saying is that my friends think ebay trashes the image of the ski industry.

if you could buy a ski for $700 at your local shop or $350 on ebay what would you do?

they say most will go for ebay taking the money from the locals and giving the ski a bad image just cause it is on ebay

HAHAAH, I'm sorry, but your friends are RETARDED! Ebay gets a little commision just for letting you put the item on, then they get a little more of the final value. Everything else goes directly to the seller, who is most likely a skier like you.

people would rather spend 350 vs 700, thats part of the purpose of ebay.
it by no means trashes skiing, because like mentioned, it might be a skier, or a ski shop, or just a person.
ive bought skis and stuff on ebay, its good stuff

eBay is perfect for those of us who cant put out 700 dollars for skis and another 200 for binding and boots and poles, when we need them. eBay shows off those rare deals that we normally wouldnt find at out very very overpriced local shop. I just bought a pair of last season 4frnt msp with rossi 140 for hella cheap,,,waiting shipment now.

Ebay really shouldnt be singled out in this whole thing. If you have 2 ski shops, one selling some skis for 700, and the other selling them for 500, are you going to pay 700 because the one offering the better price is evil and destroys the image of skiing?

Pwople will pay what they want to pay. If people on ebay wanted to pay 700 dollars, then it would probably be bid up to 700 dollars. But the fact of the matter is, they dont.

well from their view ebay isnt another ski shop it is like this huge garage sale that everyone comes together to sell their junk

and when they see this new ski on ebay it brings it down on the same playing ground as some recharable electrc tooth brush

its like skis are this sacred thing that could never be brought down from mt olympus into this flea market like thing called ebay

me, i disagre with them, the last time i looked i never foudn a million dollar ferrari at a garage sale

Ebay is a corporate giant but its because they have fucking earned it after being around for so long. They definately are not taking advantage of you, as many corporate giants do. They are a public-friendly corporation in my opinion and just about everyone else's other than your mindless friends

if you think about it these skis dont just appear on ebay, they have to be bought first, so ebay isn't ruining the ski industry, it certainly isn't helping but not ruinging it either.

I bought my skis on ebay, it took a month to ship them though because some 14 year old was selling them for his friend. So i found out his contact information through ebay and called and i got his Mom. She chewed the kid out for not sending them and then i got them four days later. So there are some downsides. But i got them for dirt cheap, and they were new in the plastic still.
