Replying to dreads in water

yeah so i'm an 'avid' sailor.

will these be a problem, having dreads, 'come sailing season? what about like mountain biking and stuff.

i need to know the down sides

and if this is the 'rubbing method' - rubbing your head whenever you can- thats what i am doing it

i also have knotty boy...but i figure i'd use that once they started to form

or is the rubbing method putting sections of hair between your hands and rubbinf your hands together
