what's the fuck with that?
i'm looking Tommy goes to college, and how can college sports be so important? broadcasted, huge stadiums, ... it's only 19 years old kids playing quite bad (in comparison to NFL).
if i understand well, the best sport university are almost the worst ones in term of learnings. I mean, HArvard is nb 1 and its sports teams suck, no?
serioulsy, people don't have most serious things to do in college than playing in the music crew of the football team?
i'm interested in your explainations

actually, the NFL is so media-saturated and hyped, that a lot of people would rather watch college ball. And there is a lot of talent in the league too, a lot of players are close to NFL level, and a lot of them will go into the NFL.
ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

Yeah I don't see how you think the playing is quite bad compared to the NFL. The level of play in college is extremley close to the level of play in the NFL. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference if i didn't know the teams

I don't think this is true. While it is true you do not see schools like Harvard in the elite of the big college sports, Division I-A football and Division 1 basketabll, they do have success in other areas. First the Ivy League schools are not in Divisionv I-A football rather they are in Division I-AA and last year they went undefeated. These schools also see success in other sports that are not as big as football like lacrose.
One school that has had success in the big college sports like football and basketball is Stanford. And they are one of the top schools in terms of learning.

Harvard has a nasty hockey team... and punk rider you want to know what the difference is...punk rider have you ever been a kid playing baseball in your front yard...or football in the road...why did you play it then? were you making millions of dollars? college sports are so much more passionate then pro levels.. i believe pro levels are so much more of an individual game because everyone wants the better stats so they can be traded to a better team and get paid more sports aren't what they used to be when the richest hockey player was making 80 grand a year and after practices had to go to his second job people didn't play on the same team for 14 years then just get traded because someone offered them a bit more money it's sad to see the love of sports go out the window i was so hurt that a sport i loved for my whole life was stopped for a year because players didn't get what they wanted to get paid...if god gave me the talent to play a game of hockey that well i would be satisfied with a decent pay...people are just getting so greedy its ruining sports all together

Stanford pretty much dominates in most sports and they are one of the best academic schools in the country. thats what a private school can get for you

but what i meant is about the money involved by universities, in france, we never have enoguh money just to have the best level in studies, here, you have incredible stadiums and so on. so, do these games makes more money than they cost to universities or are you just crazy?

college basketball absolutely rules the nba i dont give a flying fuck if there is more talent in the nba march madness beats the shit out of the nba playoffs. also only having to halves instead of four quarters is so much better it makes the game more interestin somehow im not really sure tho. less commercials maybe?

College athletes don't have the poise and experience of pro athletes, thus they make more mistakes, and more mistakes equals more excitement (i.e. turn overs, etc.).
The pace is often faster too. Compare NHL to college hockey. College is way more fun to watch. NHL the players are better, but they're also so fucking boring cause the game is SLOW. College kids are running around like fucking maniacs trying to earn their way into the pros. The pros have it made are concerned whether their in the 90 percentile or 96 percentile of the tax bracket (i.e. they're concerned about their bank account).
That's my take.

yes the sports make enough money to sustain themselves. I'm not too certain on this but I think that european students recive much more help with financial aid then american students, that could also be a reason.
My weiner is probably harder than yours.

Very few schools actually make enough money from their sports teams to sustain themselves. Dont get the misconception that most of them can. Only the really big schools with huge football programs like texas and michigan type schools actually sustain their programs on their own. Most schools require money from other sources
