i have a ton of longboards.
here is my deck list
sector9 - luke nosewalker, o.g.9, 46' pintail
Libtech - Yellow Sub deck. (fiberglass deck)
landyacht - i think it is a 48'
Gravity - it is short but is good for tricks and is twin tipped
Dreggs - the one that looks like a surfboard.
i only have like three pairs of trucks that i switch on and off, so it isn't that expensive of a collection.

I am starting to think the strippers just want my money and not my dick.
i broke two sector9 boards in one day. the tail ripped off right in front of the back trucks the first time on a fast ass carve and i got some road rash, but nothing too bad. i took it back to the shop where i had gotten it and they gave me a new one. it snapped in half after a bs180 on a bank. pretty crappy if you ask me
'He got fired? What did he do?'
'He jumped off of the roof again'
it's really cool if you make the deck yourself and it's not to hard...i have a kick ass one
If god can do anything can he make a chili pepper so hot he can't eat it?

Well I have two Sector 9s and jump four and five stairs on them. I have had no breakage. I really like them. Flex Dex are good also, my friend has one. Also if you are looking for some really good carving check out a Carveboard.

Are longboards easy to learn to ride? I've seen a bunch of them around campus and they look like tons of fun. I don't really want to buy one if it turns out to be really hard to learn. Is there any way to demo them to see if you like it before you buy one?
Just go to skate shop that sells them, most likely they will let you ride around the shop of in the parking lot or something.

riding a long board is just like riding a skateboard, and neither is that hard, so it wouldnt be that hard to learn

I just make my own.....WAY cheaper. Just go buy a sheet of plywood (3/4 for longer, 1/2 for shorter) cut it it out and laquer it up. I've made 3 so far and they are all way sick. Good flex and everything.

Dude, thats tottaly wrong about the skateboarding and longboarding, its way harder to surf, apparently uve never surfed, its hard as fuck to learn, and then if u step up to a short board like a 6 2, or even a 5 11, its even harder, im fairly good at riding carve boards, yet i still pretty much suck at surfing.

We're talking about longbnoard skateboards here, not surfboards. just to clear things up for you Gauntlet.
