The GOVERNOR is in charge of STATE militia. Louisiana is one of the poorest states in the country. New Orleans is below sea level. New Orleans has one of the highest murder rates in the country. New Orleans is a port with oil pipelines. Oil is a matter of national security. Iraq has oil. Poor people have the ability to ride Greyhound busses. Louisiana is to hurricane as Colorado is to snow. Texas has accepted over 200 THOUSAND refugees. Texas A&M is accepting 1000 displaced students. Some hurricane survivors shot at the helicopters sent to rescue them. Deuce-and-a-halfs are not amphibious vehicles and neither are HMMWV and thus are not able to travel in water 20 feet deep. Some New Orleans residents, Domino Fats being one, chose voluntarilly to stay in their homes. These facts have been presented in no particular order but can be referenced for any further arguments on this website.
