Hollowbody guitar?

I was wondering what kinda guitar would be good to get thats a hollowbody. I am looking for the tone that the Red Hot Chili Peppers get because thats the type of music I play. any suggestions?

because I like pooh.

John Fruisciatnate plays a Strat I'm pretty sure, its all in his amp and effects.

You don't need to buy a guitar to get someone elses sound, unless you're a cover band (don't even get me started).

you're not gonna find a strat sound with a holowbody guitar. A strat tone is twangy while hollowbody's have a deep resonant tone.

there is a few gibson ones that are nice if you are willing to put out the money

The Gibson ES hollowbody series give a nice sound, but they do look kind of gay. Try one out at Mammoth.

As for effect pedals, Electro-Harmonix makes excellent analog effects (Tube Zipper, Holy Grail) , Moog makes even better ones (the moogerfooger series). Stay away from the all-in-one effects units.
