Boot Buckles

So I one of the buckles on my ski boot is busted. Dont want to have to buy new boots, and I know something like this can be fixed/replaced. Just wondering if anyone out there has had it done, and what the cost was like?

mine are removable, you can just unscrew them and they come off. its like 10 bucks a buckle

I wish I could do that, but im pretty sure these damn things are riveted in there. I'm thinking I might just ghetto-rig it, and then get a new softer pair early on in the season for cheap through my work. These (Tecnica Rival RX) are a bit too stiff for park and beat the living shit out of my shins.

^yeah id say just buy some new boots its easier and if they hurt ur shins then it give you another reason to get a new pair.

drill holes in your boots so they are softer i havent tried and i wouldnt recommend it but its an idea

Go to a good bootfitter - they'll have rivit equipment and can order you a nwe buckle, or might even have one lying around.

A good shop should be able to fix it pretty easily. Don't trash your boots because of one broken buckle (unless you're rich.)

nah its not just because of that,. They are pretty thrashed as well. I've had em for quite a while. I may still keep them for all mountain riding, but they are too beat up for me to really sell.

yeah if they are beat get a new pair, boots are really important in the comfort of your skiing. if you have chicken legs like me and you get shin bang real bad try getting some free mouse pads for a computer (the soft ones not the plastic ones) and velcro them to the tounge of your boot, this will let you get a snugger fit and less or now shin bang, worked wonders for me.

Equipment is expensive, and i need lots of new stuff, i love being a poor college student!!!!

dude...go to a shop with a six pack in hand and offer it up for sum new buckle....most likely the guy will be super stoaked for the bear, and will most likely just use a t nut instead of a rivet.

if the boot is less than two years old it is still under WARRANTY from Tecnica!!! everybody in the industry goes by the two year rule.
