you have the choice: keeping your sheets clean and being not that fresh during the day, or being fresh and having dirty sheets. i vote for second one coz' when it's dirty and you are too, who cares?
at least i guess morning for freshness and evening too in summer or when made sport is the best

my winter schedual for showers are weird, becasue i dont end to sweat alot skiing, unless its march break, then i just like shower at night, or before i go again the next morning.but for school, i shower sometimes 2 times a day becasue of lots of sports/work...and i shower 10 min before i go to work
