Replying to US Gun Laws and New Orleans
So the thought has never before crossed my mind that having semi-automatic weapons available to the public was a big deal. I have several friends who are proud owners of assualt rifles and such. They claim that they own them "just in case" something were to happen. Well, something did happen and look what is going on. Armed anarchy. I don't recall factions of gun toting civilians killing each other and taking territory after the tsunami. This is probably because the people of the countries affected by the tsunami don't have such easy access to guns. I am a pretty strict conservative. Always have been, always will be, but a situation like this really makes you question how important it is to be able to purchase an AK47 for personal use. However, if I was in New Orleans right now, I would certainly want an SKS, M-16, hell, even a SAW only because of the fact that I would likely be attacked by people with other high powered rifles.
To love the times we have
To like what makes us sad
To live when others die
To lose and say goodbye
To last until our moment comes
