i dont hate snowboarding at all... however, i dont agree with the notion that without it skiing wouldnt have done anything... afterall, snowboarding had to evolve into what it is now from nothing, essentially, so skiing would have done the same. perhaps not quite as soon or into what it is now, but it would happen

nope, snowboarding evolved from skateboarding which evolved from surfing. Without snowboarding, freestyle skiing would not have progressed past straight back flips with spins and any other twisting or spreading manuever performed in the moguls. With out snowboarding technology we would all still be riding skinny, straight 215s. As fun as it sounds, I'm glad snowboarding has put us in our place, as they will continue to do.

no, im here. I dunno about you, but i ski at a shitty place, and all the snowboarders SUCK. Some maybe good, but i wouldnt know cause i never see them. Besides, didnt everybody shoot down that mommy person saying that snowboarding was soo cool? No, ive never watched snowboarding movies cause i DONT GIVE A SHIT, also, whoever called me ignorant than misspelled disgust right after that shouldnt be talking. Make up your fucking minds (in English preferrably). Or you can be the trashtalking bitches you are and cry about it. Dont you get the point that you dont hafta go against everything anybody says? I ski, i love skiing, and where the hell would snowboarding be without skiing? Also, snowboarding didnt shape newschool, it was freestyle skiers that wanted to pursue style, not technique and format. Think about JF, he was one. He helped create the sport.

I've got nothin against snowboarding, and i know that we owe a lot to it, but skiing does deserve a little more credit then some people give it on this sight. Naturally skiing is a little behind, but it is catching up. We owe snowboarding a lot, but like I said skiing deserves some credit instead of saying that everything in the sport is dictated by snowboarding

If it wasnt for snowboarding all of us would still be working on our form, turns and hitting the bumps with style (boring). Likewise snowboarding wouldnt be here if it wasnt for skiing because it is a branch off of skiing. We both owe something to eachother. Its great we're able to mesh now and be so similar with tricks (snowboarders gave us most of 'em, even grabs), as well as lifestyle.

at my hill im known for throwing 360 mute grabs, me and my crew own that park. one day we saw this gay little snowboarder in a bogner one piece, he booked towards this jump and threw down a cork 5 stalefish, man it was soooo gay. me and my crew finally caught up with him in the lift line where we looked gay as kicked the shit out of every single one of us while our mommys watched and cried like whiny bitches. the moral of my story? i dont have a fucking clue
my intire crew waited for his ass at the bottem of the hill and beat the shit out of him. i broke his poles agianst a tree, and we snapped one of his skis. fucker got uppercutted so much. he was bleeding from his eyes and shit, crying like a little pussy. i busted out a body slam on his ass and broke both of his arms. the ski patroler broke up the fight and clipped all of our tickets. we where gonna beat the shit out of the patroller but my mom came to pick us up.

I love skiing, and will forever regard snowboarding as a lesser of two greats. but i have to admit that this sport has evolved from snowboarding, well the newschool part. we'd still be back in the days of oldschool if it wasn't for snowboarders stepping up the measure and focing us to do the same. And about the statement that boarders don't go as big? I was on a chairlift and was watchign the park. this boarder crouched down and bombed a 100 yard hill right into the terrain park. He hit a jump and them pulled off a sick ass inverted trick that just continued and continued and continued till he stomped the landing . Skiing is my life, but you've gotta realize that without boarders, we'd be nothin. Later, I'm out.

Who cares where sth comes from? Skiing took over all the positive aspects of SBing and still preserved its traditional greatness. It's all about being at the right place at the right time. the little fuck that started this post is a dumb little cousin fucker. maybe the reason all the snowboarders at your hill suck is, that you are still on the rope tow. snowboarding did spawn newschool skiing, there is now question about it, and the only thing freestyle spawned was the thing we know we don't want to be. if you want to see a snowboarder that goes bigger than skiers, look at any of terje's backcountry sections. look at some of the best skiers like kris ostness, ask him why he doesn't ride for k2 anymore, it is because he loves snowboard as wel as skiing. I bet you would be suprised at the number of pros that can do a rodeo on skis that can also do one on a snowboard. open your mind up and have some respect for everyone that rips.

and to all of you who say snowboarders can't do as many trick as skiers...sure they can't cross anything, but skiing is moving away from that more and more. people still cross, but nothing like they used to, why? because it looks smoother in the air...like a snowboarder. As for rails, lets see, all we can do is natural and unnatural slides, lipslides...and so can they, but they can also do 50-50, nose presses, nollie ons, tail presses, blunts, and so forth...and don't say that ooo we can go straight on one ski and grab our other one, becuase that shit is gay and take less skill than a normal sideways slide. and another thing...flat ground tricks, every seen a skier do a unnatural nollie 90 to blunt to 270? no, nor will you ever. in other words...shut the fuck up.

You ski at fukin Highland... there are more lame skiers there than there are total boarders.
