well...sugar bowl's park is flat out lacking. Their rail selection is laughable. BUT, the pipe is really nice and last year after the freeskier contest (the only time i skied park there last year) the jumps were sick. So...Good pipe and jumps and SUGBOWL NEEDS JIBS!!!! Are you park crew or something?

Well what size jumps would you guys like to see 30-40ft, or 50-60ft range? What style of jibs? I know the stuff they've had in the past was pretty beg. The whole park restructuring is going to be way better this year...maybe?

I'd love some 50-60 foot jumps with really long and wide takeoffs and landings. And i want the jumps to shoot you up not out, like git sum hangtime and stuff. As far as jibs, go down the road about three minutes to boreal. Go into the parking lot. look at the plethora of rails there. Choose a few to copy in your own shop. go back to sugbowl and git to welding.

Hey Eric,
I don't think they'll really hurt your business too much if they had at least one good rail this season, no? From what I saw last year, the park was lame at best. I never head there for the park though. The mountain is so much fun.

Yeah haha homewood isnt gonna take over for a few more years although it kicks boreal's ass in everything but park. The trees are sex.

Sugarbowl is dope. For some reason people don't want to go and I love that. They really do get bombed w/ snow. I remember working at Boreal a couple of seasons ago and they always get bombed at the top of Donnor. Sugarbowl is even higher and more westerly=more snow. They used to have a sick park some years ago. They have the snow. Now just invest some time in it and get everyone to come out.

^^I ride sugarbowl on pow days but here's the deal. My crew is trying to figure out where to get season passes this year. If you can guarentee me a sick park, we will buy, if you cannot, it's northstar/sierra. So that's four passes right there if you step it up this year.

For me to get a sugar bowl, it would require that they employ a full time park crew and dump maybe 20K into doing some high quality boxes and rails. Every time I go there it's like I never know what to expect out of the park.

don't worry about innovation..we've got a whole mtn to work with now.
space + freedom = innovation
something we don't have alot of at Alpine but I did at June.

Dont' worry about what parks, If you don't know I don't want to spoil the surprise(your competion), but it should be a fun winter, can't wait!

competition is a good thing as long as it's friendly.
can't wait either!
still intrigued as to which parks TPC has been involved with. I pretty much know of or have good relations everyone worth mentioning in the industry, so i'm just curoius if I already know TPC thats all. You know, it's easy being anonymous on this forum. I don't hide my identity.

I hope you go to sugarbowl (tpc) we need a good park, it's been lacking really bad the last few years. It sounds like eric and tpc might know each other? At least they might be giving us 2 sick area's to go ride at this winter! Bring it on boys I can't wait to see what you guys come up with..

you might know each other, I don't know though. you just might have a run for your money, I've seen your work at boreal and wasn't impressed at all. you might want to teach your park crew there how to maintain their shit, if you are going to put your name on that park.

I left Boreal in the middle of December to focus my fulltime effort at Alpine where there were more resources available. The problems at Boreal have since been fixed from the top of the company on downward. If you want to judge my work check the links on my profile or stop by Boreal on look at all of the new hardware in the parking lot.. And I have figured out that I don't know TPC..the only person I know of at Steven's I knew from competing over ten years ago.

well I'm glad you fixed the problems at boreal, cause those guys didn't know how to maintain shit and people where getting hurt due to it.

yeah, it was a torturous earlier season at Boreal and a very long twisted story. To make it short, the people that got in the way were told by the owners either get with the fact that Boreal was going to refocus on the youth market or go work somewhere else...they have chosen to go work somewhere else. I now report directly to the President of the company and all of the funding is coming directly from the Pwdr Corp headquarters at Park City. the staff is increasing from 1 snowcat to 4 snowcats, from a superdargon to a zaugg, and from 2 park attendants to close to 20. This year there will be absolutly no excuses as there are no barriers or restrictions being placed on the park development project. Money is the ultimate freedom is this business and I can say with absolute certainty that our level of funding is right up there with Mammoth and Big Bear..I cant think of any other park that can make that claim.

Well I know Eric's work has made Alpine the premier place for consistently sculpted jumps year round at Alpine....lets see what this TPC guy has up his sleeve.

I am glad to see that shit is being taken care of. several friends of mine were hurt early out there and it fucked up the rest of their season, but actions speak louder than words so we'll see. Also who did you know at stevens? I 've been around there for a while. And TPC was only there for about 2 years, but it was the best 2 years of park riding I've seen in the NW.

I somewhat knew Gormley from our days competing in East Coast Ice Pipes 10 or so years ago. Haven't talk to him since maybe 97 when he was running Waterville and I was starting to get involved at Sugarloaf.

I'am sorry you know him, that guy a jackass that has no fucking clue what the fuck he's doing. He has done nothing but lie to get where he is. if you do speek to him ask about the cat he drove though the bay door, and the kid he hit with the snow-mo. and all the fuck up's he's had.

I ski sugarbowl weekly, and must say they have a horrible park. three jumps, three rails, one box and a pipe is usualy what they have. except for the x games quailfier. The addition of any terrain would be asome! they really need much more jumps, tables, A QUARTER PIPE would all be great.

^^very true^^ Hopefully I will know something very soon from SB on if I'm going to be there doing thier parks or I'll have to take one of my other offers, and they'll be back to the three jumps and three rail park again. But with boreals new park commitments and SB terrain can't go wrong even then.

^for sure. I guess it might almost be better if they did not get a better park, as it keeps the crowds at neraly zero. (although I do want a new park)

Well it's not THAT simple^^ but thats the basic's along with creative flow and layout with a good park crew. Well unfortunatly I will not be doing Sugarbowls park this year, they took to long getting back to me and I couldn't wait any longer so I had to pass up the offer. Sounds like there going to have some local kid that works at the resort to do it, best of luck to them.. their going to need it with boreal right down the road. I would do what CJ said & did, buy a pass to boreal if you wan to ride a good park this year, at least boreal has someone experienced, doesn't sound like SB will-not this year.
