Giro mad max discontinued?

i heard that giro isnt going to be making the madmax for next season becuse of some safety issue with the face guard not breaking away in hard falls, which could result in neck damage. has anyone heard anything about this, or know what giro's big mtn helmet is going to be for next year?

I dunno but they discontiuned the flint SC which royally pisses me off, you cant find a medium anywhere anymore. But they got Max Maxes in my skishop so I might just go with one of those. I dont think the faceguard is supposed to break away on the madmax anyway

so was it supposed to look like the helmet in the movie mad max that max wears? because that motorcycle gang was seriously gay. they weer always dancing and humping things

Anyway, a gas station we pass. We got gas, and ran off to get grub.It was a nice little pub in the middle on nowhere. Anywhere woulda been better. I ordered enchiladas and I ate 'em, Ali had the fruit punch.

Nope, they're still under their new helmets on their site, but the Flint SC is done.

not really, their construction is way dfferent, not to mention the padding and ventilation systems are completely different.

and giro hasnt updated their website for the 05-06 season, all the crap up there is from last year

About the 05 thing, I though the 05 was for 05-06 not 04-05.

About the construction, I though it was similar, just the vents up top and that the face gaurd was removable and not.

madmax has a carbon fiber shell,
could be wron but i dont think the flint sc is carbon fiber

yeah are fairly different helmets, I want the SC sooo bad, I'm bummed about the whole situation. I tried the new MadMax on the other day, very comfortable just a little bit bulky for everyday riding.

actually, no. sorry =p

The Mad Max S is based off an entirely different design for Mountain Biking - the Mad Max ( MB i guess). All they did, was instead of putting all the little vents, they filled 'em. This is something you can really see when looking at one..

And yeah, its pretty bulky for everyday riding, so if you can afford it, get a 9 mx first, and then buy a mad max for those crazy days... its worth it
