topsheet protecting

does anybody know were i could get some shit to protect the topsheet of my skis from getting all scratched up, i was thinking of getting some type of what they use for clear coats on cars, pretty expensive though, any suggestions??

ive seen heavy duty tape for that, i dont know 2 or 3 layers of clear mailing tape would work

If you duct tape the top of your skis it will protect them and make them really stylish

nah, totally though aye, duct tape is all good for stopping your skis from ripping themselves to bits, Those cap things that everyone raves about are utter crap, they fall off and break and stuff,

I'd go with covering the entire skis with stickers. then you can even look cool snow-plowing down the bunny hill.

The shop in my town used to carry some heavy sticky plastic stuff that they used to protect top sheets...i think it worked good for about a week or two, then you had to change it because it would start to bubble. I don't think they carry it anymore....i don't think it's worth it in the first place...pain in the ass to put on, pain to take off.

5 years ago they sold these neon and sparkly sheets to cover your skis. That would be pretty stylie.

hmmmm, time to go cover my old skis w/ duct tape on the top.... and then draw salomon 1080 graphics on w/ a permanent marker.

i've always put 3-4 layers of duct tape on the edges of my tips, starting about 12' from the tip. A 1/2' wide strip is good enough, most chipping occurs on the very outside edge of the topsheet. It works great, looks like crap, and makes my skis less likely to be stolen so overall , it is good. I also think that if you put a bunch around the edges of the tip, it might help absorb vibrations and reduce the chance of delaminations... just a theory but It has worked for me!
