X-games/winter x-games

does anyone else think that the x-games are really overrated now. I mean dave mirra won with a double tail whip, and some backflips, while their were riders throwing FRONTFLIPs. and also in best trick, his trick was a piece of shit. One more is skateboard vert, peirre de luc won, but shaun white had such a better/higher run then him.

As for the winter x-games the superpipe is overrated with dumont

X-games fucking suck now

p.s. commericals too

yeah but espicially with winter X its the only mainstream media coverage u get of skiing.. plus is still not bad to watch a contest of tens in the pipe and slopestyle is entertaining

i disagree. you're downplaying a lot of shit that is so fucking technical. PLG's switch heelflip revert was fucking gangster, as is a double whip. if you do any of the sports that are covered, then you get it.

maybe other guys huck better tricks, but it's about style too. Dave mirra has soo much style, that's why he wins.

^but a frontflip, that's a automatic win, that's so hard to do, other then a double tail whip. Dave mirra is overrated.
^^ and to the previous person, shaun white has one of the best stylish tricks i've ever seen, and that's on a snowboard too

^nope it's about mirra being mirra 'the golden boy'. BMX park was crazy. It reminded me of a few slopestyle comps i've seen.

and your point is ^? someone with an 8000 dollar bike has to win with double tail and back tail. Over someone who did double tails, back 5s, a turn down front flip and didn't fall while dave mirra even fell in his run and still won???

^ good call. dave mirra is way overrated. i agree, he has incredibly smooth style, but the fact is that there are many other riders who are pulling insane tricks back to back to back, not just airing over things and setting up for one big trick. i have an appreciation for all sports and can recognize an incredible athlete when i see one.. dave mirra is definately one, but he is simply not the best anymore.

i also thought dumonts pipe runs were over rated.. yea he goes huge but tanner seems so much smoother and more tech, i think tanner should have won

That came out wierd. I ment the judging was fucked and there was no way Mirra should have won. He won because he's Dave Mirra, not because he had a better run.

i think the summer games are overwhelmingly overplayed. there is so much hype and such little accomplished. Yeah, so there are like 2 new tricks landed each year. but thats not going to make me watch like 20 hours of skateboarding.

maybe its just that i dont participate in any of those sports... but i dont see it.

PLG's run was sick, i mean some of the stuff he did is unimaginally hard, but his style doesnt entertain me as much as shawn white or burnquists does. i mean style should count for some. which is why i like my skiiers with more style. like olsson. i think olsson put together a great run. i mean so did gangier, and he deserved to win, but i'd rather watch john ski.

Mirra is overrated. No way in hell he should have won BMX park. I watch them if I am flipping through channels, but I wont find the schedule and plan my day around it.

Dont even get me started with the sillyness of X-games. Chalres Gagnier, is silly and not fun to watch. Jon Olsson, does not change his Superpipe run for the last 3-4 years, still makes podeum. I think he should have won Slopestyle though, or possibly Tanner. Simon Dumont. yes he should win pipe, I couldnt remember one person radder than him.

Summer X games...... Motocross, what the Fuck, a 360.... and a backflip variation plus 1 hander lander. And then Travis Luncheon Meat backflip barspin. Jeeze Louise.

BMX, Dave mirra is too old. Double anything, is just not cool anymore. And Frontflips just look silly.

The Raddest X games ever, was Bob Burnquists 2001 Vert gold medal, and or the Fakie 5-0 kickflip on that exteansion bar in 2000.

i love how white does bigger spins and flips than everyone. You can definitely see the snowboarding influence. He doesnt do all the liptricks though. Cranmer got robbed. Nyquist should have gotten second. Mirra third.

Cranmer got robbed for sure, i don't care what run mirra had, he fell, thats it, no gold...

shaun was über in the comp, i mean fs 540 body varial? and he boosted a lot higher that PLG. i still like the order it finished in though, switch heelflip revert...

as for the best trick comp in BMX, how can dave get a silver with a trick he pulls in his runs and that he lands sketchy, when kagy does a flat 540 tail? what?
