Mint prepaid MasterCard(r) cards to reach more Canadians via distribution agreement with Plastic Now

Toronto, Ontario CANADA, August 10, 2005 /FSC/ - Mint Technology Corp. (TSX - VX: MIT), and People's Trust announced today that they have signed a distribution agreement with Plastic Now to create promotional prepaid MasterCard(r) cards using Canadian household brand names.

Under the terms of the agreement, Plastic Now will initially purchase and distribute a minimum of 15,000 Plastic Now branded prepaid MasterCard cards. Mint will provide Plastic Now with a turnkey prepaid program with complete services, features and capabilities. Peoples Trust of Vancouver will be responsible for card issuance under its agency agreement with Horizon Plus Card Services Limited Partnership.

"We have licensing agreements with a number of popular Canadian brands and have already received positive responses regarding promotional prepaid cards," said Cal Lloyd, CEO, Plastic Now. "The flexibility of prepaid credit cards allows brands to reach their entire target market."

The prepaid MasterCard card enables cardholders to store and reload funds with monetary value. These funds can be accessed for purchases wherever MasterCard is accepted worldwide, including the Internet and ATMs.
