Yay!!! I just won oakley session 1242 on ebay for $14.03 canadian and its gona arrive here in a week...kick ass!!! I dont know what to expect as ive never seen it before...anything i should look forward too?

how long is 1242?
im asking cos i saw it on tv (fuel) and it went for 1/2 an hour, and i think they might have edited it so it fits into a normal timeslot

well let's just say that no one will ever beat pep's segment from 1242, his opening shot alone is the biggest cork 7 you will ever see. And then the rest of the movie is pretty much amazing as hell. such a good movie, i never stop watching it.

I think 1242 is still the best movie evr made, except for the freakin intro that I hate so bad, and the horrible big mountain segs made with 3-year old footage of seth.
everything in this movie is so progressive. JF's unnaty tricks still beats 80% of the unnaty stuff actually thrown in the BC.
Philou doing switch handrails and unnaty lips.
Tanner, except on the handrail side, has his best segment in 1242
etc

i wasnt making films when it comes out...or watching them. 2003 was my first season freestyle skiing which i broke something and then i broke something in 2004 and this year (2005) and in my hospital stay learned how to edit! (mostly, i did some before that)

dude, 1242 is, in my opinion, one of the best ski movies ever. its up there with the best. and the thing is, unlike some really artsy movies (i love those too), 1242 just makes you so happy. its sucha sick sick movie. i borrowed it from someone for like 3 months, and i found myself watchin it daily. it was that good!

wait wait though.....you've been skiing for two seasons (or breaking things rather), and you just learned how to edit in the hospital, and you feel you have the knowledge to "critique" every single piece of video that pops up on this site? if you haven't seen pep in 1242, you haven't seen the pinnacle of ski movie editing.

and if you haven't seen 1242, what HAVE you seen that makes you the ski movie editing authority?

some wicked ass videos...you dont look in ski movies for editing thats wicked...you watch real movies in theaters and take that type of shit to ski movies. and then again some stuff in action sports videos movie makers take to the big screen...its a weird cycle.

ive seen some ski movies like the playground and x=ten and wski106 and redtape (wicked editing). ive also seen happy dayz (the movie that made me wanna start skiing) and some others which i cant remember. my favourite ski movie of all time which i saw last year at freshtival was called "disturbing the piste" definately the most original amateur film of all time. jibtech productions made an illin film with a spoof of trailer park boyz and shit. it was amazing!
