OSX on x86

i've got it all set up to install. getting a new hard drive tonight, so I can have a dual boot with XP and OSX. OSX tiger on my computer tomorrow. Sweet Victory.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed -hoodratz47

thats sick, but you wont get the entire power out of tiger or its programs since it's designed for a different processor. Did you install everything yourself or did you get someone to do it for you.

strangely enough, it actually runs faster on intel architecture than on PowerPC.

wait wait wait... I thought that you had to do some serious fucking around to get it to work on a pc. I can get ahold of the x86 install, but how much will I have to fuck with to get it to run on this machine? because I thought it was near impossible.

well its not that bad, as long as you have a hard drive devoted entirely to it. you need a few utilities and whatnot, but if you get the right stuff, its not that complicated. check out this guide, it tells you how to do it...http://www.tech-recipes.com/apple_mac_tips964.html

let me know how it works, cause I got 2 hard drives, and later this month I won't be needed the 2nd one for video editing.

Will I be able to run something like final cut HD, and have everything work just as it would on a normal mac?

I go back to my origanal statement about it being slow and unreliable. I'm looking around reading about it, and it doesn't support much hardware AND it's slow. but let me know how it goes, because I am interested.

yeah that article just says it runs faster, there's no evidence that it does. I dont see how if could run faster when everything for a mac is designed for the power pc processor. I'm stickin with my opinion until I see some proof.
