What's the best place to ski in Colorado? Anyone have an opinion?

I have to say Vail. I know it is seen as a ritzy rich bitch resort, but under the rumors this place rules. You can ski powder, bumps, fast groomers, drop cliffs, and Vail has a badass park and a butter smooth pipe.
the only thing Vail lacks are true steeps, but the mountain is so damn big you wont ski the same run twice....well, unless you want to!

probably copper because it is prime all season long, but it is especially good in the late season for jibs and stuff, it is slushy and there park is orgasmic at the end of the season

I think Breckenridge is the best if you ski it a lot because if you don't it can be confusing. Which is why it's good...few bad people go where the good people do

true, vail is pretty sweet. but if you're looking for a great alternative, just go to copper. it's got everything vail's got, but it's just not as big. copper has a really nice park and pipe, and some great all-mountain terrain with steeps, chutes, and bowls. copper is awesome.

You can't forget the resorts in the southern part of the state; Telluride, Crested Butte, and Wolf Creek. Yeah they are further away, but that also means they are less crowded, and a little less expensive.

I've always like Loveland. Its close to denver, its reasonably cheap, and when #9 is open you can hike the divide for some awesome backcountry.

i agree Silverton, but it's not really a resort and luckily it never will be... but it is the best as far as skiing

has anyone skied silverton yet? I would say vail is the best. Breckenridge is not even close to being the best unless you are a very intermideate skier or like park. Their park is about the only good thing. the rest is pretty much flat. Yeah i know about the 6 chair and the tbar.

Steamboat! I'm a little biased but here's my top three reasons:
1)NOT on I-70!
2)Longest superpipe in North America
3)Super light pow. Sooo light, you can land switch off of cliffs much easier than usual! I invite you to try it.
4)We can make you think tree skiing is cool again.
Only downside is that we don't have any *sustained* steeps. But the gates are great with just a little pow and there are some good sized rocks to try actual tricks off of without killing yourself trying to act like Seth. On the other hand, if you find any learned local kind enough, you can be lead to Fish Creek Falls Canyon. All I can say about that is... damn

contradicting my I-70 statement, my other vote is for Copper.

To whoever said Crested Butte....maybe if there was a superpipe and a super sick park. It may be the place for steeps, but I don't think overall it is the 'best'. Maybe it's the best as far as cool people on the mountain. Really it's all in the eye of the beholder. And Silverton doesn't and shouldn't really factor in. It's not even a resort. Copper is too crowded. And with the revamped park at Telluride that is supposed to be sick this season, I would say that it takes the cake.

SUpilot is wrong about aspen, ajax is the most about immage out of all of them. the highlands is the least about immage. I should know I've berly skied anyware else
not to say that ajax isn't good, it hase some of the best dubble blacks out there

all you dissin' eldora - have you ever skied there? There is some sick shit there.
Also- Vail is corny with the whackest base area and customers on the planet. pretty good terrain, but who wants to deal with the jackasses? Also - After Crested Butte - A-Basin is the best ! Best terrain and Kegs in the parking lot. Fuck Vail!

Steamboat...nothing beats tha home town! Halla!!! Copper is already sick since they aren't being pussies on the rail scene and only putting up a box like breck. Did we all forget Buttermilk? You can't complain about a 2 mile long terrain park and soo many jibs!

YES! Loveland pass! Get off of your sorry asses and start walking you fucking pussies! Build your own damn kicker and let the furry-booted cheese-dicks at Vail get their asses licked for a 15 dollar cheese burger.

I would have to say that i like the 'Vail Resorts' area the most, cuz if u get a pass at Vail u can go to Beaver Creek, Breck, and Keystone, all on the same pass. I love it out there, i'm moving there in 2 years fo sho.

after 15 years of monthlong trips to Colo....I quit going cause it's not the same. If I was still going though, A-basin would be the place to be....Go to Canada.

Now that I live in Aspen, I would say Buttermilk because I love the park. But when I lived in Denver, I would definitely say Vail because of sheer size and variety. But the lines suck on a crowded day, and we never get lines in Aspen.

highlands on a powder day is better than any resort in the country, not just the co. and snowmass any other day is what's crackin like a neck snappin

I personally like Keystone. I have not been to Vail, Am going over Spring Break. Keystone offers to me a well balance of terrain AND KEEPS THE BEGINNERS AWAY.

keystone hasn't been getting any snow this year though.

how does keystone keep the beginners away? about 8 people have died there this season. a few were employees but the majority were people hitting trees or other people. one guy died in the park.
