The shop I work at just opened today and I got to get a feel for all the new stuff.
First lets start with the k2s. Fuji v. PE the difference in stiffness is still pretty big. The Fujis bend right on command but have some good rebound to snap back. The dimensions are about or are identical to last years, and the cap construction still looks good. Great graphic as seen and overall good ski. I ordered it in a 179 with a axial110 binding. As for the PE's, I have to say I love 'em. The only reason I didn't buy them was because I'm also getting some ar5 so I didn't feel the need to get too park/all mountain skis. The topsheet of the PE is now a ptek style coating and I kept getting that waxy feelng on my hands, nice to see the went with a sidecut this year. Also, both skis had a marker on the side that had midsole, +1, +2 etc, all the way up to core center for mountin purposes. Very nice.
Next the Foils. From what I hear, the foam core from this year is beefed up, but still...Foam. The ski and construction felt real nice, and had a good flex to it, a little stiffer than the past two years. I'm gonna really need to ride these to get a better assement.
The Sprayer and FS are cool, all around decent. The construction hasn't changed on the FS, dimensions are almost identical, and graphic is different, but still looks very "scratch-y". As for the Sprayer, it felt a little thinner underfoot, and other than that, only the topsheet is different.
I know all of that sounded like a good report on all skis, but from my first expiericnce, I would have to rank them, PE, Fuji, FS, Foil, Sprayer.
