ya i wanna get a new camera...im thinking about this one http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7067504&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat29000050002&id=1108126065621 and getting a 512 mb memory card...or a zr200 with a fisheye or a wide lense...but the only thing is i dont wanna always pa for tapes when i can use a digital camera and take clips for free...but if u guys can tell me about this camera like does it take pics fast and does it take good quality vids then that would be great

the video from it will most likely not be good quality.

if you want to mainly take stills, that i would get a camera like that, but if its mainly for video, then get a minidv camera, sony premium tapes are $3 on the net
the quality of a mini dv will be much better

www.bhphotovideo.com is a good site, just look under "video consumer>on camera accessories>lenses" You can then use the filter at the top to narrow it down to lenses that will fit your camera, you just need to make sure you have the right size, it will say on the camera

k...well now that im thinking of it do u think a wide would be better then a fisheye...and ill be using this lense for mostly skiing

it all depens on what you want... a fisheye will normally give you a wider field of view, but will have more distortion(the rounded look), the wide angle lenses will normally give agotu a .65x zoom, with very little distortion

so i fish eye will give u no zoom cause right now im looking towards the wide angle but im not sure what size to get for the zr200 i think its like 56 mm but i cant find a 56 mm one and idn like if it matters what brand or not im lookin to spend about 80-100 on a lense so if u can help me out then that would be really helpful

Just buy the camera, then when you get it find out the thread size.
You can still zoom with the wide angle on it, just it doesn't zoom as much or look as good.

Also fisheyes have that stupid shit around the outside that I hate soooo much. Vignetting.

i got a .43x fisheye. I just searched on ebay for a fishey lense for canon zr200 and you get a couple options. it only costed like 50 bucks with shipping

i think he means for what you paid for it. the Canon consumer camcorders are very weak. they're for vacation video makers. the zr200 has very few manual controls (which i think is the worst part), isn't good in low light, and has a bottom loading tape door. you could have done much better than the compact handheld ZR series is what he means (i think).
