Waxing rails

ok so my friends and i are making a rail for the winter. just wondering what kind of thing to wax the rails with. ive heard candle wax works, but i dunno. that and how to apply it? if it matters, we probably will use pvc pipe

in my experience you don't really need wax for skis

just rub any kind of wax on it (except surf wax) and it will slide so much smoother. even crayons work. they are a waxy type thing.

Anyway, a gas station we pass. We got gas, and ran off to get grub.It was a nice little pub in the middle on nowhere. Anywhere woulda been better. I ordered enchiladas and I ate 'em, Ali had the fruit punch.

take candel or better parafin wax(you can find it at your local supermarket) and wax away, no wax applying skills are really necessary

the thing is i would wax boxes because the wax would last, but no metal on a rail can obsorb the wax, so when you grind it ur just scraping it off. but do wax ledges and other things like urban stalls and shit. if ur using pvc sure go for it, but pvc is already really slidy.

I wax my pvc just cuz I like it fast- I just use regular old candle wax.... it totally does the job

You dont need wax on PVC like everyones said, but if you really wanna wax it. Candles, Skateboard wax, crayons like someone mentioned...all work really well

If it's PVC - wax doesn't do shit.

If it's Metal - Wax is for skateboards. Just put a thick coat of oil paint on the rail, and that will make it slippery, and protect it from rust. I've tried everything. That's the best way.

i think that wax would make it sticky. i never wax rails. if anything you shouyld cover it with a layer of matalic paint
