Now get ready for this, I'm gonna break the pattern and say Shareaza. Its great because it connects to 3 different p2p networks and also acts as a bittorrent client.

There are a lot of sweet programs, and a lot of em actually connect to the same servers.

If you are worried about spyware and shit just when you install it, click 'custom' instead of 'typical' install and unclick all the toolbars and stupid crap.

Plus, if you have a decent anti-spyware program you should be set anyhow. Spybot...Microsoft Spyware Beta... whatever

Bearshare and limewire run on the same network so you'll get the same results. But for full albums learn to use bittorrent and IRC.
