jesus. apparently nicholas cage has lost any sense of ethical responsibility. who the fuck thought giving an illegal arms dealer the quirky personality of cliched self indulgent stock broker was a good idea. this better just be a bad trailer, because if this is how the movie is gonna be someone needs to get shot.

But seriously, Having him potray a criminal character in a non criminal way will have one of two effects on people who see this movie. a) and most likley for most of the population: They will want to partake in the sale of illegal items like guns or drugs to make mad stacks fast, just like Mr. Cage, or b) and the more preferable outcome: People will come to realise that the Real criminals in todays world who have little to no moral concious, a huge influence on the entire globe and Do seem like nice, every day smart people.

Its a risky sterotype to play around with in a movie, and who knows. It might just pay off.

that was cool. i watched the trailer, and the top of my window said "Apple", and then i came to read the rest of the posts, and Apple made the most recent one. that is what we americans call "coincidence."

but yes, i agree, it is a completely ridiculous premise to base the movie's plot such that it creates a protagonist who, in the real world, would probably be a very bad man, for lack of a better description.

I'm pretty sure it'll be one of those movies where at the end, the protagonist realizes that what he's been doing is horrible, his girlfriend will be furious at him for what he's done, and he'll realize that his morals are skewed, and the climax and/or ending will be him trying to get his shit back together.

its one thing to make a story about it, its a whole nother thing to paint them as a fun wild and crazy guy.

just because his outward personality is that of a banker, it doesnt mean that he isnt a real evil motherfucker on the inside, people thought the BTk killer was a nice banker but oh shit what did he do, he tortured and killed people, so maybe the movie plays off how he acts like that but does horrible things, like how he lies to the wife and shit in the trailer
