Ipod questions?

just got a 40gig ipod!
is it possible to use napster and convert the music to work ona an i pod?

are there any programs that will work?

my comp is a pc not a mac!

also can i get music off of other people who have ipods by going through theyre comp then put it on my comp?

No, you need itunes, and you have to buy all your music through the itunes store or from cds you bought at a store.

you can use your mp3s if you want, but yyou can't connect your ipod to another pc it wont work

^actually, you can. If you bring your iPod to that person's house, set thier iPod options to "manually manage music" then make a playlist of all the stuff you wanna take. When you hook yours up, a thing will ask you if you wanna update or restore your iPod. Obviously pick update. Then in iPod options, when you can pick from which playlist to get music from, choose the one you made. Then it'll transfer, but those Tunes won't show up in iTunes on your own comp, you have to either buy or download a program to do that for you.

if u put them in a play list then save the playlist you go to file, import, but you have to click on m3u files under files of type but it might be txt or xml for you

you dont need to buy the music from the music store, it just needs to be on itunes. i just download mine off of acquisition and it automatically puts all that music onto iTunes. boom.

^ Thats what I use also, and you don't have to make playlists if you're taking music off someone elses computer. As long as your iPod is Windows formatted, you can take music from any computer with iTunes. Also, you can put a .exe program called SharePod right onto any iPod and transfer music from your iPod to any Windows computer.

lime wire for downloading, and itunes to put it on your ipod, and im guessing that napster puts the songs into a folder? if it does just add that folder to your librery and you are set

share pod i guess, but u can just open up your ipod from "my computer" and just throw all the music into that folder and then take it home, open it up in my computer and drag the music into your music folder

i dl all the time, and i dont have to buy a CD or buy music from the music store to work. i mean i use iTunes cause i like it, and the iPod needs it, but i mean, u can DL music and jsut save it to wherever you put music. then go into iTunes, hit ctrl+o, choose your song and then its in your library. next time u plug ur ipod in, it will be uploaded on ur ipod!

any dl program ive used is compatable with itunes (WinMX, limewire, kazaa, i use morpheus now). i just have my music go to a seperat folder and then follow the steps i said earlier.
