Dynastar edges

can anyone honestly tell me if dynastar fixed their shitty ass edges that turn into pancakes after 5 hits, if ur just goin off what other people are saying than dont offer your input

novotny is too pussy to comment on that. This thread has come up like 8 million times. There's no doubt he's seen them. So why has he never either a) admitted there is an edge problem, which is not being fixed or b) at least denied the edge problem.

I'd feel better about dynastar not fixing their edges if I at least knew they had convinced themselves that there's nothing to fix.

i think that dynastar knows there edges blow and what would be the point for novotny to comment on these threads he would prolly just confirm that their fixing the problem and if he did comment think of all the people that would bombard him with usless pointless questions

you've got me there i thought that the 05/06 would def. have changed edges and that bugs me that they don't but the only thing i can think of is that dynastar wants to actually change the ski (flex radius material etc.) along with the edges instead of making tiny improvments or they're still looking for suitable edges to pu on there skis because isn't this there first real twin? and they don't know what edges will hold up.

^I think it is hard to fix them because fixing them means getting new plans for new edge technology, altering the machinary, and teaching the factory workers to do it differently, I mean theres a shitload of things they have to do before making a change like this. I heard something about the 06-07 edges being more durable, bur seriously, you can't expect them to fix it the moment you snap, it takes time.

Imagine if you were making something for a long time and suddenly people start telling you to change the way you do it and you've been doing it the same way for many years, it would take you a long time to figure out a new better way that will please people as well so quit critisizing them. at least they make twintips.

for dynastar to put in new edges, they would have to change the construction of their entire twin lineup. A beefier edge would not fit into the present construction.

Dynastar is probably developing a ski right now that will blow everyone's mind in performance and durability. I am expecting big things in the future. If they don't turn things around with their park ski, they are sunk. The TM is a good ski either way, as long as you aern't doing 20 foot disasters or really sharp kinks they will hold up fine.

skis are made for riding snow primarily. Trying to make a ski that slides snow and metal is a secondary objective. The TM slides snow better than any other ski I have tried. I doubt there are many people on here who have busted their TMs who aern't advanced park riders. If you're intermediate or beginner, the edges should hold up unless you are stupid and can't slide rails or you are sliding shitty rails.

^yeah the TM is seriously the BEST ski I've ever ridden for jumps and pow and stuff. awsome ski, they just need to redesign the edges.

armada changed their edges this year. they redesigned alot. so if its not that hard for a smaller company to do it...

well I used my TMs for rails skis this whole year and they held up fine. I agree with whoever said they will be fine unless you're doing big gap to disaster slides on flat-down rails. or riding on pavement with them for urbaning.

get a clue. How can you say Dynastar pours their money into racing. Not sure what race you watch but there are not that many world cup racers on Dynastar.

I would say Dynastar pumps a fair share of money into newschool / freeride. They sponsor Crichton, Rainville, Woods, Vanular, Marion, Martinod, etc.. and Nobis, Dana Flahr, Jonny Law, Erik Roner.

They are the title sponsor of Berman's movie, title sponsor of TGR's movie, sponsor of volume. And they sponsored the Vt Open for 2 years.

Yeah they obviuosly do give a shit about anything but racing.

are you crazy? because of what they put into racing allows them the technology to make good skis, i would say that companies without the knowledge of making good race skis have something to learn about ski technology, you can't say that a company that makes race skis doesn't know how to make skis, just look at the dynastar legend pro, a big mountain ski made in the race factory which is extremlly well made, maybe learn a few things about ski manufacturing and the ski industry before you make stupid comments like that

I've been ridings my Concepts for 5 years, and expect to ride them for another few.

Give it all back racing? How many twins does Dynastar make? Hell, lets ignore the pro models which are the same ski in different sizes.

1. BIG TROUBLE
2. TROUBLE MAKER
3. DAVID CRICHTON Pro Model
4. MARIE MARTINOD Pro Model
5. TROUBLED YOUTH
6. SWEET TROUBLE
7. PRO MODEL PHIL LAROSE/BELANGER/DION 8. TWISTER

Even if you ignore the Twister (twin tip mogul ski), Dynastar has as big a line as Armada, a wider variety of skis then 4frnt, and probably puts more money into into twintip ski development and marketing then Libery or Ninthward make in a year.

don't forget, they also makes roxy skis...the only company out there that has a line specifically for female with an entire line of hard goods. but regarding to if those skis are actually made for female or just detuned normal dynastar models, i do not know. despite that, it appears to me they are the one really pushing the female progession. IMO

Ya I hope that was a joke. Dynastar skis are super durable, go try to break the legend pro you will NEVER do it just like most of their other skis. So there edges are a little weak oh well the rest of the ski rocks, tm's are one of my favorite skis around. And dynastar sponsors lots of movies and ski events not to mention a pretty big team....what drugs are you on?

i dno't think you understand, the way the ski is onstructed, a bigger edge would not fit on the ski. If you look at the profile of the TMs, they are pretty thin.

except you are changing the entire ski. It pretty muc hmeans redesigning the ski, and that would detract from the package that TM is right now. There is no other ski that is as light as the TM and can boast the same performance, you have to compromise somewhere and dynastar compromised edges. It makes sen if you look at their riders from whe nthe TMs were designed, pipe monsters and the TMs own pipe.

yeahhhh, my concepts, both edges on the noses of both ski's blew out on me. I brought m in but every time they fixed um' they just blew out. bunnkkk. im getting the new troubles this year, I hope they work better for me. The edges look exactly the same. But other then that dyanastar ROCKS.period
