Reading it was fun as it did a fairly good job of engaging the reader. Do you even know what happens in the two??

sorry, but if a book sucks really hard (like the red and the black of Stendahl), i do not finish it. like movies, when it sucks it's not worth loosing time watching the end ...
i guess the author laughs when he see all the people who believe his book and ask for special tours in paris ... if not, he is crazy.

Embryonic stem cells from extra embryos left over from invitro. currently, just in the US, there is 200,000 sitting around, unused, waiting to be destroyed. The church says it is immoral to use these embryos for research.....they are protecting a body of cells over a living human in suffering? interesting....

how about sexual education and the use of contraception in Africa? How are they protecting these millions of people in africa. by preventing the use of contrespection and sex education they are condeming the Aids epidemic to spread more and are also guaranteeing the Malthus Theory...if you know what that is. overpopulation is SO bad in this world that eventually we will reach a point where it just collapses. Millions if not Billions will die.....yet the church ignores this problem because they follow a book written by white men who wanted a way to run the world.

If you are Catholic that is fine with me. I respect that totally as you are entitled to your own opinion and beliefs.

I feel that the Catholic Church is a joke and their mentality and beliefs are extremely flawed and without any actual basis. These beliefs will have to change or at least become more compromising if they want to realistically play a role in the future.....

that is if they don't brainwash everyone first.

Personally I think anything that challenges people to form their own opinion on something, especially the Religion and the Church, is a good thing.

Regardless of how well the book was written or the validity of the arguments it presents, it made millions of people take a second look at what they believe in and challenged what they had been taught, and that's what Dan Brown wanted to accomplish when he wrote it.

I've read the book, and while many points it presents are pure speculation, it is certainly is an interesting concept. The show 'Decoding the Past' that aired on the history channel ties up many loose ends in the novel and explains the truth about many things in the book, but there are still many facts that just seem too coincidental to close the whole door on the issue.

I read it a while ago and I thought it was a good book, then I heard Angels and Demons was better, so I read that and it was indeed better

da vinCi not vinchi.

but yeah I liked it a lot. It was an easy read that kept me interested.

the d code was better then angels and demons...and i like anything that makes u think about what u have been taught ur whole life....now i went to catholic school my whole life...and i was the lil brat that was like "if God has a plan for us why does he plan for people to kill other people??" and i would come up with questiosn that would catch my teachers off guard....usualy response was...well He has a plan but we have free will to chose that plan...i have plenty of issues with the catholic church...but i have the education to back up my opinions...not just what i read in a book....

if u like the "detective" part of the book and figureing out the clues and such....read The Rule Of Four....that was a good book!!!

I have a problem with the Catholic church ignoring the needs of many non-catholic which include the use of condoms for contraception and protects against STDs and aids. Africa is still a tribal continent and women are often raped or made to have sex because their position in the society it lower than that of men. Funny....that same thing occurs in our society with guys.....there are other reason why family have lots of sex - in poor society they believe that more kids are better, due to high mortality rates among children and the fact that those societies are agricultural and more children = more works = more $$.

is it the church's role to spread condom?? No, I agree. is it the church's role to govern the lives of non-catholics? No as well. yet it happens.

AIDS is not the responsiblilty of the church....helping to prevent its spread and the suffering of millions more is....they help make it very difficult for people to avoid the disease

That is a nice way to think, but honestly that isn't true. 25 Millions kids in Africa are without parents and were born with AIDS. What chance do those kids have. It is hard enough for people in industrialized contries to pay for the treatment. These kids have no family, no money, no hope....no chance. That life I guess, though. Maybe their parents should have maybe better choice.....but the choices of these kids hardly make the children themselve immoral.
