Hey, I'm going to be going to college at Whitman college in Walla, Walla. I'll probably die if I don't get to ski, where is the best place within a few hours?

umm...that sucks. It is going to be quite the drive to get to good skiing, let alone anything fun what so ever.

actually theres a lot of good bc skiing in that neck of the woods, between the blues and the willowas you have a lot to choose from. but it's like real bc shit: trekkers, skins, trail mix, etc. you've gotta earn your turns out there and maybe take more than just a day trip to do it.
it's not even worth buying a pass at bluewood, seriously. take the drive elsewhere. or work at the whitman op, you can get an employee pass to bluewood if you really want to waste your time.
and whitman not that good of a college...hmm, i don't know about that.

never said whitman was a bad school, but that there are better oe equally good colleges out there that are in much better locations and much closer to skiing.
If he is into the backcounty thing, though, seems like it will be a great area. if he is alwas working for his turns I'm sure he'll get to ski tons of powder, which I'm sure he wont mind. If that is the case, though, screw alpine trekkers and just get freeriders or naxos. Trekkers such ass.

Thanks, I picked the school mostly because of the fact that they actually do have a pretty good reputation, and their alumni make craploads more than the national average $$ and because their outdoor program is pretty cool-- I'll probably go chill with my friend in Spokanne on some weekends and ski Schwitzer, and my Uncle is in Portland, so I'll probably ski Hood a few times. I'm a little into BC stuff, too, so it sounds like I may not die after all.
