Skiing equation and why you f^#ks are so stupid

heres the deal...im noticing soooooooo many people, like 90% of this board, seems to think the skiing equation is something like this:

0% Rider + 25% equipment + 25%bling + 50% jacket = good skier

and for all of you (i dont want to put a list out, but basically any of you east coast kids and all the ones out west who are too pussy to ride big mountains) who think that, let me fill you in on something. it doesnt matter what jacket your wearing or what bling you have on on whether or not you have the BRAND NEWEST skis or the fact that youre EXTREME cuz you drink ROCKSTAR....heres what you fuckin kids need to realize. this is the proper equation for skiing:

98% Rider + 2% Equpment + ZERO PERCENT JACKET

u dont have ice in the west like we have in the east, after it gets warm and rains 2 inches and a cold front comes right behind it where it gets to 5 dgrees the next night its so icy u can barely stop, and u can forget about holding an edge on anything more than an easy blue,and u said "we get a shitload of ice" i really doubt that

if we had more people like ATLANTASKI the world would be a better place.

your right pow isnt easy to ski. but guess what idiot,i can ski it,you probably think all east coasters suck,but guess what we dont. i like the west better and it has more extreme terrain and its better skiing, but dont come on saying that east coasters suck at skiing

Seriously, enough of this east vs. west shit! It gets stupid and really has no point to it. I've heard that there are still plenty of posers out west and I guess PC is the home of tanner hall look-a-likes. I live in Vermont and I go out there and tear up the mtn. as much as a west coaster. True, our terrain is vastly different, but that doesn't diminish the skills of east coast skiers. To say that all east coasters are posers is like saying all people from the Middle East are terrorists.

before you call someone a poser you have to take in consideration whether or not they have just started skiing; i'm pretty sure a guy who's beein skiing park for 2 years isn't going to stack up to a guys whos been skiing it for 9 years. ad just because someone is new to the sport he.she shouldn't be denied the right to buy nice equipment. oh and another thing; you guys make it seem like we're skiing on a sheet of ice out here in the east when really all it is is just a bit of ice on the tranny and pipe walls.

there is a lot of ice in nc. and i havent bees skiing park for 9 years. i have been skiing for 9 years and next year will be my first year at park

Us East Coasters make due with what we’ve got. We ski on fucking ice for half the year, and we have a good time doing it. It makes us appreciate those few powder days that we see, or the trips out west that we take. And another thing, you don’t even have to deal with the pussy ass wanabe skiers who are decked out in the newest gear. They are there to bother us every season. I know Vermont hippies who still ski on 205cm strait skis that they pulled out of a trash can, and old ripped up carharts that they work in. they rip better than most people I know, and they don’t need ski pants to enjoy it because an old pair of jeans will do. You’re the one who is spoiled, because you don’t have to deal with those rich little bastards every day, and you have endless powder lines that you can hit. So give us a brake, and stop trying to loosely categorize me and my East Coasters

it's proven that it's actually 90% jacket, 9% equipment, and 1% person...my friends first time on skis and hes fallin every where and can't even ride straight, so i let him borrow my jacket and 10 minutes later he lands a cork 7 double grab..true story

what would you do if the rich kids didn't buy the latest shit... who would you get it from beat up and used???? Face it if you wanna be hardass and ski beater equiptment and clothes, you need those rich bitches to buy the new shit.

I'm not going to really take a definite side on this issue though, because I sorta feel the same way when I go in the park and see the kids decked out in expensive shit. Most of them sit there like bitches and tap their poles when someone does something sick. The might take one park run an hour. But the creator of this thread is taking it too far though. I ride with all kinds of guys that have sweet gear that throw down super hard every day. Sometimes to the point of injury.

Also big mistake bringing up the east coast - west coast thing, even if thats not what you intended it to sound like. I ski in pennsylvania. The only powder I know of is the kind my aunt puts on my baby cousin's ass. West coast might be where the awesome skiing is, but you can't say west is more "core". It takes major balls to huck your self off of an icey table knowing that if you land a little sketch, you're fucked. I'll see guys in ski videos overshoot landings on huge jumps and get right back up. I snapped my leg 3 years ago on a 35 ft. table when i under-rotated a 540 by like 30 degrees.

that was kinda long but i thought i should speak my mind.

of all jay peak is the shit, second of all the whole reason for this thread is that people are too wrapped up in being considered a 'good' skier. As far as im concerned unless you going pro nobody cares if your good or not, and I hate to break it to you people but 99% of the people on this site wont be pro. For this reason skiing is all about having a good time. If you can do that your good n my book. And no I dont suck.
