I just bought GTA:SA and guess who was in front of me

I just bought GTA San Andreas the original now "AO" version. my Id wasnt checked and a 14 year old kid in front of me also bought a copy and he wasnt checked either. this was in the Virgin store in Time Square. after the guy sold it to me I asked him if he knew it was AO and he couldnt sell it to people under 18. he said he was well aware of it and this was his way of saying "Fuck you" to those politicians.
that guy earned my respect.

i'm going to go pop some people now... the only thing i dotn like about my game, is i scratched it like once, and then after 50 minutes exactly for some reason the disk starts skipping and it will freeze...but by then i am done playing it anyway haha, it would suck if i was still trying to beat it and it froze...

Stuff like this is exactly what makes me hate our government... all this rating stuff really is related to religious beliefs, which is not supposed to have anything to do with democracy. I don't think there should be an age limit for items related to violence and nudity if we want to consider ourselves a "free" country. whats your take on this?

first off the stores dont have to ID you to but any game, there is no law it is a store by store policy.
and for the "this is the reason i hate our government" well guess what until you are 18 years old you do not have all the rights entitled to you by the constitution and bill of rights, because you are not an adult.
is this stupid in some cases yes and in some no. some people are screwed up enough they shouldnt play games and see things liek that but its not that way for everyone. thats why until you are 18 your parents are there. and your parents 9 times out of 10 will know whats best for you because they know you better than you know yourself.

yeah. in half life 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004 it says Mature or Teen and theres a warning (Game Rating may change with online play.)
I guess the reason they were able to pressure them into this was because the content was actually on the game disk.

I bought my version at Future Shop and I was ID'd but I was able to talk my way into getting it. I demanded to see the manager and I told him that if he started to reject customers, he was going to lose a lot of business. I walked outta the store no problem.
