Good skis?

What is best average to stiff flexing ski? I don't want a soft ski like a t-hall or stl, but not something really stiff like a p.e.

I had a pair of scratch fs last year, but I thought they were a little too soft. Something a bit stiffer would be a great ski as long as they are durable.

stiffer than last year but not too stiff. I would also reccomend an AR5

a 06 179cm PE is not a "very stiff" ski.

the PE has never been a "STIFF" ski man.

I'm trying to think of anything that would be between the PE and the Scratch FS and the only one that comes to mind might be the AR5 but I've never ridden it to know for sure.

Oh, and the Chronic is as stiff as, if not stiffer than the PE. So you probably wouldn't like that one.

well if you want a ski thats stiff but not a PE get an AR5 or Chronic

Almost no one has skiied the dogens yet and the FS have the same flex pattern as the ecos. AR5 is the ski for you. Perhaps last year's (05) Mike Nicks.

Oh, and next year's PEs are soft, not stiff, unless you're a total pussy, in which case you have no call to evaluate ski flex.

The Mike Nick is definitely stiffer than the PE. I would rule that one out. Honestly, I think you should be looking at AR5's.

I'm not being a dick either, everyone knows that I'm a huge LINE supporter but I really don't think they have a ski with the flex you are looking for.

If he doesnt like the PE he wont like the Dogen. basically the same as the PE. Its a really sick ski. I dont know why you wouldnt like the PE. k2 helped volkl develop the Dogen

The new PE is stiffer than last years because of the new ptex top sheet not to mention they added girth to the ski. It is about a half pound heavier and plowed through crud like a dream.

I should say torsioanlly stiffer than lasy years PE. Flex is about the same either way, the ski has no metal so you do not have to worry about stiffness.

PE or Fugi thats all you need to know.

i had a chance to try the new Dogen a while ago and it is among the sickest skis out this year. Probably the best all mtn ski i have used.

ya he got it...the chronic is perfect...it takes a few good days of riding to break them in though, and u will find them heli-stiff if u dont have any leg muscle or any lower body strenght.
