GTA: San Andreas rating changed to "ADULT-ONLY"

Im glad the video game industry did this.

politicians make me sick. this was not about protecting chidren. although that is every politicians dream to be "protector of the children. this was a technique used by Mafia alot. "Protection money" these politicians need money for their campaigns and guess who isnt giving them money: the video game industry. this was pretty much a message pay us and we wont mess with you guys. GTA was mature M and on the box the reasons were:

Blood and Gore
Intense Violence
Strong Sexual Language
Strong Sexual Content
Use of Drugs

I really hope that they dont give in to the protection money thing. they have a good system. and saying that now that its not apropriate for kids anymore. is like saying that porn is no longer decent for children becasue theirs a scene that the director didnt warn us about.

yeah it wont do anything. all it will do is force Rockstar to spend money on printing and replacing labels and maknig a new M rated version of the game

also it makes those politicians shut up. Hilary really pissed me off with that. The Game was never intended for children and making a new M rated version of the game is just going to be wasting time and money since the exact same audience would go for the Adults- Only version

I believe only the PC version of the game is getting bumped to an AO rating. The news reports have focused solely on the PC version, none of the other versions, and yet again, we can also thank the Corporate watchdog Walmart for leading the charge in removing all copies from their shelves (and I guess Target and BestBuy have as well).

all of them are. the PS2 and Xbox version also have th sex scenes on the disk and since both the PS2 and Xbox can go online it is possible to unlock these scenes.

that's pretty funny... kids waiting outside the store looking for someone to buy them a game.

what would be funny is the guy buying it for the kids (17 isn't much of a kid anyways) that gets caught and arrested..

^ yep they do, happened to me but the old guy was cool enough to actually let me get it. he kinda hassled me then told me a story about some kid who came in 3 times to buy S.A wearing wigs and changing clothes and he thought he was a narc or somethin

i'm pretty sure the rating are only guidelines and not law, movie ratings are not law, but movie theaters have contracts and policys they shouldn't break. So a store could legaly sell a copy to a kid, the only thing that might happen is they might piss off a distributor.

ok heres the deal.

everything on store shelves says M but its actually AO so Rockstar is going to be sending out AO labels for any store that still wants to carry the original game.

at the same time Rockstar is remaking the game to be released in a month or so that will fit the M rating.

so you will have 2 versions one M one AO

M: Mature 17+

AO: Adults only: 18+ only

really no differnence except that many stores refuse to carry AO which are usually only given to porn games and such.

so Wallmart (70% of game sales in the US) wont be carying it, neither will many other big retailers.

well its not remaking it. its removing a couple of files (something the interns will probably doing. haha making meshes and taking out code animation studios treat interns like slaves)

then they have to recreate cds, DVDs and print new labels for the old version. and a whole bunch of stuff.

plus Rockstar is pretty big now. they have differnt teams. they wont be bothering the GTA:(Not allowed to tell the name yet) team.


ohh and as soon as i can tell the name of the new game. ill be posting it first. hehe

really i cant stand any of the GTA games...i think about them too much. like, they fucking depress me. i dont want to go around abusing hookers and killing innocent people. if i want to shoot and kill stuff, i'll play halo2 or something, but i like games that you can just have fun in like Amped and other games of that nature

this is GTA: 7 and every single time they get the exact same press coverage. parents by now are aware of what GTA series is all about, and if they dont then they'v been living under a rock and probably dont have a TV,console, or computer so they have nothing to worry about.

I have every GTA game except for San Andreas and I hope I can find it.

thats funny actually. you can cut people up with chainsaws and kill cops, but as soon as theres a hint of sex the rating has to be changed to adults only.

no the next one will be for next gen consoles (PS3 & Xbox 360) and PC

as for the remake. its not a remake. in fact itl be identical to the current version on consoles since those files havnt been unlocked yet.

remember that game manhunt? the one where you can brutally murder people in a variety of ways? it is possibly the most explicit video game that i have ever seen, yet it is only rated mature. what is it with sex? sex isn't killing someone, its pleasure for fuck sakes! i think that that people should look at the REAL difference between sex and violene and decide which is worse.

haha exactly what i was thinking. kids are going to (hopefully for them) have sex at some point in their lives, but only a couple (again, hopefully) are going to run around with a gun shooting cops and random people.
