Are you sure it was Salomon that said they would give you 25% off new skis and not the shop?? I have worked in shops for a lot of years and have not had a problem with any company standing behind their product, sometimes even when it was obvious that it was user error and not manufacturer error. Much of the the warranty honestly is what the shops tell warranty Departments from the companies. If the ski was heavily abused and the person had a very poor attitude the Manufacturer will be less likely to help the person out. If you have guys that care about their customers and are willing to go to bat for them, thats when you get the waaranty or repair. Many shops do not like to go the extra mile and thats a sad thing. Customers are what run businesses and if you do not try your best to help them out,you will lose them. I have dealt with a lot of warranty in my day and have had very very few products ever turned down. Besides, the shop should have been able to get credit for the product and given you the 25% (Never seen it that low) off anything that you wanted in the store.
