i just got a new powerbook and i'm having trouble playing videos. i click the video link and the video downloads but it won't open in quicktime. i'm sure i need a plugin, but i'm not sure which one? any help would be awsome

hmm if u have quicktime it should work, right click the video and go to "play with" and hit quick time, cause quicktime might not be the defaut

ya your ganna have to download windows media player 9 from microsoft.com, the movies you cant play are most likely .wmv's

nah if they are formatted to wmv im preety sure they arent .mov's

it's not the site that determines it - it's the file type - like he said you may need to download WMP for some of the file extensions

give us the link to the video you want to see. right now all we can do is throw ideas at you.
it might be your player, it might be your codec, it might be your browser.
until you can give us more info try these
-update quicktime
-get an alternative player such as lan player (much better than wmp)
-get divx for mac
