i just got a apple and on my old pc you could see what when your typing your user name but on my apple all i can see is the cursor when typing in my name and password is this normal?

because apple uses colorsync for all apps so that text boxes dont clash with background pics and it is a glitch, you can fix it by getting root through terminal and changing permissions on safari, or you can just highlight it to check your spelling
