hey, will going on rails and that sorta stuff scratch the base of your skis?

not so much as your bases, but your edges. If there are to many bad railslides, the edges can crack or even fall off

sliding on rails distroys your edges completely if you do it alot but it doesnt mess up ur base cause u grind on the edge

it will gouge holes in your bases, and scaratch them, and destroy your edges to the point of ripping them out, if u ski ur rail hard enough

what happens once your edge falls off? What did you guys do? I know repair is kinda expensive, so did you do it yourself somehow?

usually they cant even fix it and if its possible u should take it to your shop.
