if you do end up going, under no circumstance should you remain sober

some of you dont know what youre talking about. this movie is not a remake of the original movie, it is aversion based on the original book, which is considerably different. but this movie doesnt look too appealing

You guys talking about the original being great and all that isn't exactly on target. Roald Dahl actually HATED the first Willy Wonka, and wouldn't let them do a sequel to it. Sure it was a great movie and all, but then Gene Wilder comes along hating on the second movie because his was just so grand. I personally am a huge fan of Tim Burton, and Depp, so I am really looking forward to this.
Musical rendition of a really creative book? no thanks
Adaptation actually based on the book, with Dahl as a correspondent? Yes please.

I think it looks awsome. If you look at some of the other movies burton has directed, (Sleepy Hollow, Nightmare Before X-Mas, Edward Scissorhands) you see that they have very dark and eerie elements, and I believe that is what he will bring to Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Its definetly gonna be a magical "trip" on the big screen.

it was pretty good. better than the original. depp is great in his role. the umpaloompas suck though and their songs blow compared to the original.

i saw it the other night at a private screening and we were all crazy stoned. i thought it was pretty awesome. you can't really try to compare it to the original, which was great too. the songs and some other stuff were weaker in this one, and it isn't quite as creepy, but the visuals are amazing. overall it was pretty sweet.

Depp was fucking awesome! Like when that bratty girls father tries to impress with his peanut-business, and asks Wonka something about production, and Wonka just giggles and goes: Naw... You're weird! And he looked intensely fucking insane, too...
