if any of you have met brad you would no he is a fag so if you eer do meet him kick him in the nuts my dream is to have a bunch of people just walking up to him and kickin' him in the nut's
brads dream of a good park is put up some cool rails then never change them make snow at the begining of the season so after they make it too weeks later were skiing on ice the rest of the season
o and the pipe ya they never groom it so it's good for about a week after they make it

i remember at the begining of the season we all thought he was cool
but then he like tryed to get all of my freinds fired for stupid stuff lol
we were on lookout at the begining of the season building a jump and they closed the run down wile we were on it so he comes down and startes bitching us out then he like threw sticks at us
so ya i dont like him
then on this one powder day before the compitition they had i told him he wasnt good enghf to be in it so he like thretand to kick me out and take away my season pass for useing welches poles

yeah people can be jerks but sometimes you gotta suck it up to get your ideas in. If he controls the park you don't want to screw yourself over by being a jerk. And the whole snowmaking thing usually happens like that where the area makes their base depth and then nothing much more during the year.

...anyways, you people bitching about welch need to also realize that most minnesota resorts aren't very progressive yet either (with a few exceptions) most places just pile on the responsibilities of managing a park onto somebody's already full workload. the places with better parks have someone who puts a good ammount of their time into it and it shows. most ski area general managers in minnesota don't have a very good opinion of park skiing yet. hopefully that will change in the future when they realize that racing has been on the decline for like a decade and park is where everything is going.

i was there today, and unfortunatly i didnt know there was a comp going on. b/c of that they had all the jumps closed, but its ok, because everything looked like shiiiit. that halfpipe looks straight out of 92. the 4 rails at the top had horrible ride ons, didnt even look fun. and that "huge double take off jump with a 40 and 25 foot wedge"? more like 20 and 8 feet. the 20 actually looked like it could be good though. the rest of the jumps were horribly unproportionate, huge take offs with a tiny table and steep short landing... their runs arent even that fun, every trail is groomed really flat, there isnt even any rolls anywhere that you can dick around on.
people are talking about how its the midwest, you cant have high expectations. this i know. i grew up skiing in southern wisconsin, its about the same as here. but welch isnt getting themselves anywhere. it seems like they actually put in effort into their park, and it is still under par.
what if we all found pictures of nice looking features and emailed them to this brad dude or whoever? i did it at tyrol basin for some of their rails, and it actually worked. search around for pictures of nice small-medium jumps, nicely placed rails, shit like that. with the rails, basically anything that has an actually take off to the rail, and maybe even a landing, you know how nonexistent those are at welch. jumps that actually have a smooth trajectory. or is that asking too much?

he's a dumb ass wasteing all this money in a dumb rail with two boxes on the sides that u cant even use and putting a halfpipe before the one nice jump they have is so stupid. I try to tell him that its a waste of snow for that halfpipe but he wont listen. they could make 3 tables out of that halfpipe if they wanted to.

alright this guy is supposed to be from colorado and supposed to be good my friends little sister can show him up big time. he wont even hit half his features he sets up. hmmm he was hired as the park manager then they put the "workload" of being a advertising manager and now this year ski link which is instructions. the guy doesnt know how to make stuff because he cant hit the stuff he makes so he doesnt know how to fix it. welch has 3 race hills adn 1 park run adn they wont do it across the whole run because the other side is for "racing" but not really... then onto the ice, welch never grooms what needs to be groomed. fuck give me one of those things and i could make it better than what it is.

i pretty much just think we can't complain man, look how much better they have gotten in 2 years, yeah it's no mammoth or keystone, but this is the midwest, everyplace is gonna be icy, welch grooms at night time, you cant expect it to stay soft ...its gonna get hard cuz its cold out, i actually like hard landings, you can stop tricks so much easier, and then the landings never get rutted out...pretty much just be happy with what you got, cuz its a lot better than what me and my friends had at welch before any of you guys were even out there, we've been figthing for a park for about 6 years, and now we finally are getting somewhere, itll get better dont worry

well i was out there the other day for teh matenince "snow daze" event. me and a good friend gave a presentation about parks, and how to set them up etc. we skiied welches park and it was terrible. i dont think a sing thing was set up well. they have sooooo much potential to have an exelent park.
