Your favorite cliffs?

im getting tired of looking all over ski resorts on powder days trying to find good cliffs. so does anyone know of any good cliffs, like really big ones with a good landing and everything that are like 30 ft and up. i go to almost every resort in CO. atleast 2 or 3 times a year so it doesnt really matter where.

vail has a few ( prob not 30 feet up) in the blue sky basin area. a nice cornice under the lift basically and then some random "cliffs"

dont really have speicifics

yeah blue sky has some fun cliffs there and theres alot to the left of the lift. but i want to know about specific cliffs.

Just take your pick. I can name stuff at most areas. I particularly know Copper, Vail, Beaver Creek, Purg, and T-ride. Anything specific?

yeah i forgot about steamboat, theres like 10 15-35ft cliffs there if you hike up near east face or whatever.

Heh, just moved to beaver creek, this place definitely has some fun stuff...but its mostly bc. Either way, I'm stoked to read it and pissed that I can't ski (I live 100ft from the lift!)

I live at the Tarnes right now, near the bear lot. I'm definitely down to ski...or mtn. bike for that matter. I go to the stone and vail a lot for DH and XC stuff.

Dude, Steamboat

Go to the top with the morning side lift, short hike up to North St. Pats and East face

Million dollar rock is about 3/4 of the way down on a little on the left

~23-30 ft. depending on snow, landing is good, but tranny runs out quick, so you don't want to mach off it or you could prally hit flat bottom...There is a ton of great ~15 stuff all over that side of the mountain in Steamboat...plus the pow is so light, you won't even know you landed!

DO IT!

btw, ask somebody that can obviously ride to show you were it is...people are nice if you don't have an attitude

breck is building a new lift up to the top of peak 8 that should be done by the start of the season. it should give lift access to what they label "extreme terrain" which is a large rocky cliff area. never done the hike to it so i cant tell you how good it is.

main problem with bat is, drp a cliff and you just dropped all the steeps steambat has. Good pow and decent terrain (sick of trees tho) but good luck getting a run with more than 2 decent drops. Think you would be better off with summit county where there are alot more steeps.

^ those are all really slow weavers if I'm thinking of the same place. some really big ones but odds are you'll get impaled on one of the 17000 trees at the bottom.
