Wow. The fact that this thread exists is a slap in Jason Levinthal's face.

Line. This isn't even close. Dynastar skis are absolute shit, and won't be any better next year because they have no apparent desire to improve anything that's clearly horribly wrong with them. Dynastar's skis suck, dynastar's company sucks and the fact that they sponsor Corey Vanular, who is admittedly freaking awesome, doesn't do enough to cover up their shitty, shitty product.

The fact that their team manager decided to explode himself on the front page of this site a few months ago doesn't help much either.

Lately?! You're an idiot! They're the same skis as they have been for years, the Belan is IDENTICAL to this year's TM, last year's TM, and NEXT YEAR'S TM! Compared to pretty much every other ski on the market they suck... and they're the only skis that consistently deserve their reputation for durability issues.

dynastars are sick. They did a little edge work on next years but the beefier sidewalls/edges will come in the 06/07 season. Line has some good mid/fat skis but i wouldnt be caught dead on their skinny stuff

ar-six has no idea what he/she is talking about. ive ridden lines, and ive ridden dynastars. first off, ill be the first to say that the edges were pretty junk. i had TMs last year, and blew out 25 cm on one of the edges. this year i had the Belans and i didnt have 1 cracked edge. i skied more, skied harder, and slid twice as many rails. the flex on the dynastars are unmatched, and you can actually ski them outside park. lines are good park skis, no doubt about that, but anywhere outside of park, they blow. even in pipe, they cant hold an edge up a wall worth shit. they have pretty good edges, no doubt, but the flex pattern is disgusting. they have absolutely no support if you dont land perfectly on them. ive never ridden, their fattys or mid-fats, just the park skis, but i hear the bigger skis are actually pretty good outside of park. but either way, in the park and pipe, its no contest. dynastar blows line out of the water.

Line edges break out really easily too. I've skiid Lines and i can't stand them. they are skinny and poopy, and the bindings always tear out. Troublemakers have a shitload of pop and perform awsomely in powder. I use my TMs for rails skis and I haven't borken the edges out. I am begining to think that TM edges only break out if you are doing huge gap to down rails and crazy shit.

I live in a place far far away, where on occasion the telly tubbies will come to play....and that's when Ma gets out the shotgun. Damn critters climb in our gutter system all the time.

I'm sorry, your screen name starts with Dynastar, you've never ridden any line ski aside from their park twin (assumedly just the 1260), and I'M THE ONE WHO HAS NO IDEA WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT? Of course the 12s suck outside the park, they're the bargain economy ski. If mean something like the old darksides, then you're trying to compare line of today with line of 3-4 years ago and you once again are out of your element, Donnie. Of course they suck in pipe, they're noodles. Ski some Pollards or the new Prophet 100s (if you have the snow for it) and then make a new comparison. The only reason I can think of for owning a TM is that you have such a diverse quiver that you can actually justify owning a pipe-only ski... For anything else, they suck huge balls.

Who here has that kind of quiver? Anybody?

ok ok Lines skis aren't too narrow but I have skiid them and I dont like the way they feel. and TMs are 78 at the waist. The whole TM edge thing is totally exaggerated. they're not THAT weak to the point where they will break completely off in the first day.

AR-6 does know what he's talking about unfortunately. And if you think the skis have pop, you haven't skied them long enough--they noodle in no time. Someone who just left their team will tell you that. I used to sell them to kids and that was the second biggest complaint (second only to "the edges fell off in the first month").
I'm not going to go into it, but Dynastar also had a nasty habit of selling heaps of products in an area through "newschool" reps without telling the stores who sold their product in those areas--this is a dickhead move towards local ski shops, and once the shops found out as the kids trickled in with their dynastar skis (wanting to have them mounted), the shops were not very happy. dynastar kept the program going, and tried to hide it by scrapping the website and telling reps to keep it on the d-low, even after the stores caught on and wanted them to stop.

Ar-Six just owned everyone supporting Dynastar. He's dead on. I've ridden both the TM, '04 1260 and Chronic and I'd choose the Chronic anyday. I was considering buying Belans but I made my mind up I'd rather spend 350 on a different ski. Like 300 on a new Invader.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not going as far as Ar-Six here to say Dynastar totally sucks, just in this debate, Line wins. The construction, development and overall performance of Line stuff wins out over Dynastar.

If you look at posts over the past two year, a ton of it has been about Dynastars edges and how they are blowing and cracking and breaking, while things on the Chronic are how "super sick" it is and how it rips everywhere.

There is a picture on here, but I can't find it. And it kinda puts the nail-in-the-coffin on the TM's edges. I'ts 4 or 5 bases lined up all with busted edges. Look for it.

my vote is line, line basicly did what a park person is looking for, a durable edge that is double the other ones, perfect graphics, perect construstion, and the new invaders are going to be phat, wide for those huge landings, but also have that nice butter zone, bascily i think line is just 20x better than dynastars...

yeah dynastar hasnt changed their skis for a long time and i bet there keeing them the same for 06 too, line actually makes alot of different skis with different flex width and everything so you can tell line actually cares about skiing while dynastar only cares about monet

it depends on what kind of skiing you are gonna be doiun, if your spending your whole day in the park you should prolly go with line, theyll hold up better on rails and shit, but if like most people you want to be able to ski on your skis and not just be able to slide rails you want the troublemakers

If you don't do rails the TM's are as good as a comparable model in the lines (chronics). If you do rails their edges just aren't up to par with most other companies. TM's are great skis if you ignore their edges, which are a huge unignorable problem to most people.

i think what AR-six was referring to was the really low tips that the TM's have. they might be equal height, but it doesn't matter because the front and back are both SUPER low. my friend who rides TM's has had trouble a buncha times getting his tails caught in mushy snow.

TM tails are raised 37mm, Line's true twin is around 55ish, and their directional twin (which is what assasins have) is in the low 30s. It tends to vary with production as to the EXACT height.

No see I really don't wanna read what all the other kids say...so don't mind me if i repeat...In my mind i believe that LINE has a better freestyle ski, and I will tell you why. Does Dynastar only make freestyle skis?NOOOO! They may have more money, but the thing is that they aren't just focused on the freestyle portion of there ski company. There fore my ski choice would have to be LINE
