DVD player audio

ok, so I had a dvd drive that broke. So i got a new one. This one, has a humming sound that plays alot louder than the audio on the DVD. The one i had befor was a little staticy, and i could deal with it, BUt this one you can barley hear the dialog. Does anyone have any idea what this might be because of, and or what I need to do to fix it? My computer is about 4 years old now, if that helps any. Thanks for your help.

yea my xbox seems to do that, it sounds like the disc is spinning so fast its gonna fly out!

some dvds are like that and some are just quiet from what i have noticed

if it's loud it's because it's not spinning smoothly... the drive might have been installed a little off-center or it might need a little physical adjustment/calibration. but don't do it yourself. get someone who knows hardware to come and tell them "lyk dis shyt don't be good at playing der dvd" and maybe they can help.

oh i thought you meant the drive itself was humming... is it coming from the dvd drive or the speakers?

i remember like 8 years ago one of our comps drives was wicked loud, then we had a guy come and he fixed it. i dunno what he did though

it couls also be a simpler thing. make sure the drive is screwed with all 4 screws to your computer case. and make sure that they are all screwed tightly. its almost always that when its a new drive. people dont realize how fast those dvd drives spin and how much vibration it causes.

try screwing it to your case as tightly as you can then see if it still loud.
