Flipping off bridges

if i can easy do a rodeo 7 off a diving board would i be able to do it and not die off a 20' bridge? I've seen kids front flip it but i'm scared with the extra air time i'll over rotate and land sideways, and a 20' belly flop might hurt just a bit.

visualize it a ton of times and it'll work, I flip off cliffs and overrotate rarely

itll hurt a little if you overotate, whenever i flip off a bridge first time i do a rodeo 5 because you can basically spot the whole time and can keep a super slow rotation, you should be fine if its only a 20 ft

yeah, after i do this one there is another bridge i've only straight jumped that's 45', i dont think i have the balls to do anything off that one though.

yea last weekend misty7 and ahmet jumped off like a 40ft bridge into water that was maybe 8ft deep. it was gnar. andy overrotated a bit

no man i'm not that worried, worried but not that worried. I'm 95% sure i'll get it but just a bit scared i over rotate. I just got off a tram and did them like nothing, landing everytime.

you can go all out and bellyflop off 20 ft and as long as you flex your stomach nothing substantial will happen anyway. I dive off higher stuff than that (pictures comin' soon)

20 feet is nothing, you should have absolutely no problem flipping off it first try. as one of the dadalis said, its super easy to guinea pig with a rodeo 5

i'm sorry buddy but if it is 20' i wouldn't do it maybe a 5 because when you jump off a spring board it is alot different than a platform. go for something (trick) smaller then if you can huck good do a rodeo 7

You'll be fine. If you are going to do a rodeo then make sure it's a trick that you know how to throw smooth, slow, and with control. If you are going to just stand off the bridge and do it you won't get that pop, so you would have to throw it a little harder. But I could almost guarantee you that you won't have to throw it nearly as hard as you think.

You have to concentrate on throwing stuff slow.
And yes, it does hurt a little if you belly flop.. but that builds character. hah. If you are going to belly flop and you know it, try to stay tight and tuck up.
You'll live though.

I was out at a swimming hole 2 years ago and was trying to show off so I thought it be a good idea to throw a double lincoln off a 50 foot cliff.. The spot I was jumping from was way sketchy. You had to jump way far out, and the spot you stand from was dangerous.

Needless to say, I bellyflopped. I bruised my whole body. I was completely purple and was pretty messed up from it. But I walked away. hah. Moral of the story is, that I am still alive even after slapping from that one.. So you will be fine.

i'm gonna go for it as soon as we go back because i'm pretty sure i'll get it and even if i don't, like ghost dragon said, i'll live. I've done rodeo 7s onto huge track mats and landed on my feet perfect, about a 15' drop..this will be nothing.

do some regular spins off of it first so you know how much you have to set to get the right rotation. then I would say set a little slower because you can always whip around a bit if you are underrotating but over rotating you are out of controll.

i did a front flip and over rotated straight onto my face/ chest..hurt like a bitch. i was caughing up blood, def. should done a rodeo, i'm never comfortable doing anything forward but said fuck it cuz standing on the edge backwards freaked the shit outta me, HUGE mistake.

I acutally rotate forwards better...the standing backwards thing freaks me out too, I usully take off for a dive all stratched out, then tuck like there's no tomorrow, and once I see the horizon thru my legs I open

oh man, bad move, definitely shoudl have stuck with the rodeo, its soo much easier to stall or speed up, doinf a front is just ASKING for a smacked face and chest.

In case you missed it, it's not a picture of me. So whether the cliff is 10 feet or 70 feet, It really doesn't matter much to me.

Using some trig, I tried figuring out how high it was for the person who asked. I could be wrong. If you think you know what it is, feel free to share.

I did a misty 9 and a d spin 9 off of a 30 footer today, and over rotated the hell out of both of them onto my face. I was drunk, so I threw em to hard, but luckily, my face and stomach were already pretty numb when I hit the water, so I didn't feel much. Just a suggestion, bridge jumping intoxicated is a life changing expiriance.

yeah man if its 20 ft you just gotta do like a dive for a front flip....underrotating is way better than over but you'll prob over cause its so easy. Ive overrotated on 30 fters and been pretty fine

i go to a swimming hole that has cliffs on 3 sides one side is a waterfall but the highest cliff is 42 feet. people frontflip and backflip that all the time. i frontflipped a 20 footer and overrotated it and bellyflopped. it didnt really hurt much though. i did it again and made it. all i have to say is start to fall off and then push out. dont jump and flip ull definatly overrotate

i didnt read many responses, too many words. but you know when you do for a flip or something off the diving board and you throw your arms to start the spin? just throw them slower, not as hard.
i did springboard diving all through high school and that was how to slow down a dive so you could do a full or a half, a straight or a tuck.
my fav dive: 2 and a half straight with a twist. aka, 2 and a half flips in a straight body position with a twist in it. so fun!

Just lawn dart it, Ive lawn darted 40-50 footers, just jump off with a tiny bit of front flipping momentum arms real wide in almost a swan dive position but in front of you, when you are 10 feet off the water just tuck and roll real fast it'll come around. 20 feet won't kill you if you fuck up. The first cliff I tried a gainer on a was like 35 feet and I landed on my neck, saw stars and my ears rung all day but I was fine.
